Oh we';ll it had to happen.
Missed the astro and slam dunk onto concrete.
3 broken legs but that seems to be all.

Anyone know if the DJI legs fit a Peter King 450 as they';re £6 each from Peter and the DJI ones are only £4 each from Revolution Models which is local almost.?? :help:

All the parts (Crius AIO Pro board, GPS and Bluetooth have  arrived from RC Timer) and only took about a week so not bad.

Roy

just get a complete frame from h/k and transfer electrics over..
dont grow up,just buy bigger toys!!!!

Royston

Was going for easy fix as only legs broken and am going to rebuild X525 with new Crius parts so that';s enough work to be going on with.
Just want to learn to fly them so need as much stick time as poss.

If you find yourself in danger of being taken seriously, then try to do something which undermines or sabotages that perception in some way.

I have used Dji arms on the clone and they are as said above better quality and stronger but it wouldnt hurt to take your copter to the local shop to check, the clone arms use 3mm screws but the Dji arms use 2.5mm screws so you will also have to get some new screws to but still a worth while conversion  ~~

Thanks guys.

Another quickie!!
All the Crius bits arrived today. Just wondering if I should put them on the X525 or should I go for a different frame and if so any suggestions please

The X525 should do the job.

Flyduino make some very nicely designed simple frames if you want something a little nicer;

http://flyduino.net/Quadrocopter-Frame-Set-25cm-arm

Very rigid for good flight characteristics - doesn';t fold though.
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Royston

Thanks Chris
Not dissimilar to the X525 but as you say not folding arms.
Any ideas if you could use DJI 550 arms on 450 platform, if that';s what you call it. Prefer to stay with quad rather than hex.

teslahed

I';m always suspicious of folding frames - especially cheap ones. If the folding mechanism isn';t properly designed then it will introduce weakness and flex at that point - right were you don';t want it.

If you can get away with a non folding frame it will probably fly better unless you pick a good folding one.

I am pretty sure the DJI F550 arms are exactly the same as the 450 ones. Just 2 more of them (of course).

Indeed they are, only difference between 450 and 550 kits apart from the extra 2 arms is the span and shape of the base and top plates

Royston

Thanks guys.
Will look at the possibility of 550 arms on 450 plates then.

Gaza07

As macspite says the 450 and 550 arms are exactly the same  ~~

Silly me, was thinking 550 arms would be longer. Dohhhh!
Couldn';t get any DJI arms in UK at the moment for 450. All out of stock.
Phoned Fast Lads and they recommended
Tarot 450 Firefly Quad Flyer Frame Latest Version TL2749-05 (TL2749-05) = £16.49. Said put side by side with DJI and they look exactly the same??
So for the money will give them a go.

macspite

Isn';t there an RCTimer 550 frame with longer arms? And those arms, I believe, sold as spares.

Royston

Checked RC Timer and the 550 & 450 are the same size as DJI ie. 35 cms.
Thanks for help anyway.
