AGM 2-D with SJCAM4000 instead of GoPro Hero3

Hi Guys

I have just received an AGM 2-D gimbal meant for a GoPro Hero3. I intend using an SJCAM4000 instead.

It fits perfectly but the gimbal is not stable when power is applied. Is this due to balance/weight differences? When power is applied it wants to turn the camera upside down and vibrates a lot.

Does anyone know anything about the AGM gimbal? There is a USB port and the website has a GUI. Do I need to do some tuning and/or setup?

Thanks

First thing to do is balance the camera/gimbal - it should balance on the gimbal without it powered up, if it doesn';t you need to either move it or add weights to get it to balance right then you can look at tuning.

Thanks! It was just as easy as that!
Blob of BluTac to balance it and it worked just fine.

What is a better way of attaching weight than BluTac? Any neater solutions?

That landing gear kit should be ok, make sure that it will give enough clearance - if not you can use bigger diameter foam pipe on the skids (Pipe insulation material)
The best way to balance it is to weigh the bluetac and cyano the same weight piece of NON MAGNETIC metal in its place.
