Expo and D/R's

So, as some of you may be aware Ive been rebuilding my quad after a pretty grim crash.  I blame this on a number of factors but one of them is my change of tx from a Dx6i to a turnigy 9xr.  The dx6i had settings I had entered from recommendations from Peter King whom I bought the quad from.  My 9xr I setup myself. I sussed out the mixes for my channel 5 flight modes and I got all the relavent channel reverses set correctly but unfortunately I overlooked the Expo and D/R.  This I think was part of the reason my quad was very twitchy.

So, the rebuild I hope will get completed this weekend. But until Im confident with my tx settings I wont be happy.  So ive been reading up to clarify exactly what expo and D/R was.  I came across this easy to understand explanation....

(I appreciate there are some youtube tutorials which Im sure are better but Im away with work and on my work 3g dongle, youtube footage soon racks up the bills and gets the bean counters sniffing)

Im looking forward to applying my new found knowledge to my tx at the weekend when I get home.

My one question is, what sort of rates and expos do you guys use for normal flight (no aerobatics).  I';m interested in recording some nice smooth video footage and risk free non hairy flight. I now understand that this means me possibly reducing throw with the rate setting (not really interested just yet in switching between another rate) and reducing stick sensitivity around the neutral point with expo.  But what start settings should I try?? Or is it just a case of trial and error?

my 9XR using open9x  on my F450 quad running 1000kv motors on 10x45 props is
rudder      100% no expo
elev          expo    25
throttle     expo    25 (this stops jumping at hover half throttle)
Ail             expo    25

this i have found makes fly smooth for me

I dont run dual rate as setup the way i like and leave it there

mine is docile enough for fpv but still can be aggressive when i want it to be

I have mine set the same as Firey1 20 to 25% expo on ailerons / elevator but non on the rudder
I have throttle expo enabled which flattens the centre a little, and I always have my rate set to 100%

The only thing I';m master of is staying in and not flying because its to damn cold
