Just be gentle with the sticks, keep inputs small and outputs will be small - if you see it going somewhere you don';t want it to and can';t recover throttle off to avoid damage!
Good luck

You';re not kidding Gaz. Mine always takes off and shoots forward and right. Needs 50% stick to counteract. Tried the various recal tips but it doesn';t change. Sure I';ll sort it soon. Time.... :frantic:

Are you starting it up on a flat surface? If not try it, if so try proping up the front right up with a 50p piece. Try experimenting with your start up and see what works, also you could try recalibrating it on a flat (checked with a spirit level) surface - look on Youtube for how to recalibrate.

After a battery change I always recalibrate, it takes like 5 seconds, then do a quick trim on the tx and you are off. It takes no time at all. After time you will get to know how to tweak the sensitivities / rates for perfect Hubsan flying. Good luck, any questions, please ask!

Glad to say that my X4 is flying at last!  :frantic:

Went through the various calibrations again, seeming to get the same confirmations each time. Then I sat down and did a visual on the X4. Found that one of the motor wires, instead of being flush with the motor base, was proud by a good few mm in a small loop. This would have prevented the X4 from calibrating properly as it wouldn';t have been flat!!
:hmm:

Also found one of the arms had snapped out so clicked that back. I';m sure it wasn';t like that from new but you never know. :banghead:

Now takes off vertically and apart from a slight forward drift is very stable!  ::)

Couple of sets of Ladybird props on order as I have seen good reports of them and the originals are getting a little chipped... More practice needed but coming on well at last.
:bounce:
Update: last 3 flights showed a homing instinct for the back of the bookshelf! Think I';ll call it a day until I get the new props! Old ones looking like rotary potato peelers!

Ladybird props .. pray tell more

Walkera Ladybird props. Reviews say they make the X4 perform better! They look a more designed shape. Got them on fleabay and Amazon. I should get mine early next week so I can report back!

Meanwhile have a look at this:
