So, as some of you may have read already, I drowned my dji450 clone yesterday.  All components are currently stripped and drying off.

This now gives me a new potential money spending option....

Do i use this opportunity to rebuild the quad on a TBS Discovery frame????

I love the look of the internal wiring and the TBS core.  I have a crius AIOP.  This frame seems to be geared towards NAZA.  Will I be ok with my existing FC and other components......?

Is this a good idea or am I just addicted to spending money on quad parts and I dont really need it..?  ~~

Hi Rob,

A girls opinion! I';m not sure what you';re comparing the TBS to! It could be a $14 frame from HK or a £65 Reptile frame. Either way, my personal opinion is that the TBS frame is very nice, plush and shiny and only deserves what you feel is the best equipment. Anything less would be an injustice to the lovely finish of the frame. For me, it would be like buying a ferrari body shell and putting bits from a old ford escort in it! Not that I have anything against ford escorts! You may also want to compare the prices as the TBS frame isn';t much more than a reptile.

Good luck with your choice, Thxx

Hmmm. Well I';m comparing it to I guess my 450 clone which in my opinion seems pretty good quality.

I suppose I would just buy the top and bottom plate kit and perhaps the core and use my existing arms and electrical gear.

So I';d be looking at spending what...£120? (Unless anybody knows some place to get it cheaper UK based.....)

I';ve seen your thread on the build bunnygirl and was very envious. Perhaps I will test all my dried electricals first. If they all spring back to life and I don';t need to replace any of it then I will buy a TBS to celebrate. If it fails and I need to spend more £££';s then I won';t.

Logical.....I think so....not sure the gf will agree tho. Think a few white lies will have to be spun to get that one past her. :-[

Hi robshaw, yes its difficult makeing decisions, the frame that Firey1 has pictured above is very similar to the TBS,its called a Reptile, there are a number of people with them on the forum includeing me,I can honestly say its a nice frame, only bad point the arms are a little flexi, when you need to replace the arms replace them with proper DJI arms @£4 each, but you wont go wrong with the reptile,Marty. :scotland:

Hi guys.
I';ve decided to rebuild the 450. Purely based on the fact I need to stop spending. I guess there';s nothing really wrong with the 450 and I';ve hardly learnt to fly it properly yet. Perhaps when I get a bit more experienced and got over the last few weeks of spending close to £1k on bits and bobs then I';ll invest in a TBS.
