That looks a nice bit of engineering how much is the controller for it?
If someone throw's a stone at you throw a flower at them just remember to throw the pot with it.

rickp

Looks good - just need to find a suitable driver board...

Gav

oh excellent!  Give it a month or so for some more cheaper options and maybe a combo pack with controller.

That is the Open Source board not the AlexMos. I am led to believe that they are not the same.

At 400g it';s quite a weight penalty for going brushless compared to the basic servo gimbals.

how does it compare to the belt driven gimbals for weight ?

It depends..
My brushless gimbal  for gopro  is  only 104gr ( including 2 motors)

Hey Mate I';ve just had alittle look back at you past posts... That is a nice little Gopro gimbal set up youve got.. Very nice

How much did that little set up cost you and what are the components? And where can i get it all from?  :notworthy:

powerlord

No can';t plug straight into gimbal output of board - it needs a special brushless gimbal controller. These have their own gyros etc - so you';d connect rc channel direct to that board to control gimbal .

Search for alexmos for details

shame its aluminium, thats gotta add a fair bit of weight
If YOU can fly it, I CAN crash it.

Today I ordered two of the large gimbal motors from RC timer. Im gonna spend some time making a nice gimbal frame around it for my NEX5, and im hoping that by the time im done making the frame, the boards will be out there, debugged and working, maybe even a three axis one.

Its a huge step forward for gimbals, this low cost brushless thing. The zenmuse has been the standard and a thing of admiration for years, and along comes RCtimer with some 20 dollar motors, and seemingly the same results. Its exciting, and I cant wait to see what people do with it, and I cant wait for those motors to arrive so I can start building something.

Gonna be goooood.

Gaza07

Nice one Pete look forward to seeing what you do with them  ~~
