Hi
Recently bought used X525.  Not particularly happy with stability.  Doesnt want to go straight up. Used transmitter trims but not really happy.
Anyone recommend a replacement board. What';s KK2 V2 like. Need something easy peasy lemon squeezy to set up.
Any advice gratefully received.
Regards
Roy

Gaza07

Hi Roy the KK2 is a very easy board to setup but it may need upgrading to version 1.5 if you get one as they seem to be still sending them out v1.4, upgrading the board is a very easy process and there is a how to guide on the forum written by rokit5,
What board does your copter currently have on it ?

I moved your post because it was in the for sale section, if I hadnt moved it one of the mods would of done  ~~

Cheers
Just thought it was on home page.  Ooooops.
From what I can gather from guy I purchase it from (he bought it BNF), it';s a KK board but am unsure as can';t see any identifying marks on it.

Roy

Hi Roy if you could take a photo and post it here we might be able to let you know what it is you already have,
the home page is just a portal to the actual forum so I';m not sure how you ended up in for sale but it doesn';t really matter that';s what the mods are here for we have to give them something to do  ~~
The old original kk boards flew quite well I used to have a few my self and got a lot of enjoyment from them but the kk2 would be a huge upgrade and im sure would be the right choice for you  ~~
Please don';t hesitate to ask for any help or advice you might need you are always welcome I';m not sure how your post got overlooked and why other haven';t answered  :beer2:

You should be able to tell if you have the kk2 because it has a small lcd screen on top with 4 buttons below it?

Royston

Thanks for response but think its earlier model. Will post photo for advice.
Thanks again.

Hopefully attached photo is OK.
To upgrade would a KK V2 be my best or a Crius AIO Pro be a better option. I already have one of these boards in a 450 from Peter King. The Crius is on offer at RC Timer for £37 shipped but don';t know anything about flight controller boards or how easy they are to set up so advice would be much appreciated.
Regards
Roy

Oooops. Don';t know how I managed 2 of same shot

Gaza07

Hi Roy that is quite an early KK board earlier than the black version, I would def change to some thing newer you say you have a AIOP they are a very good board but not simple to load the firmware and setup but all the information needed to learn how to set this bard up is on the forum and we are always here to help should you need it, the kk2 is much more simple to setup and get going, but doesn';t offer any of the advanced features a AIOP can other than the self level function  ~~

Ordered all 3 items.
Not bad for £65.90 total.
All that';s left now is to work out how the hell it all goes together when it arrives.
Thanks again
Roy

Hi Gaza
:help:
What bluetooth app is it you need to download??
Regards
Roy

Gaza07

Hi Roy it all depends which firmware your going to run Multi Wii or MegapirateNG

The Android GCS for MegapirateNG is here http://usubscription.com/androidGCS_download.php

The Multi Wii App  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ezio.multiwii&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5lemlvLm11bHRpd2lpIl0.

Multi Wii is quite a bit easier to install and get working so you may be better of with that  ~~

Hey Roy,
I have a param file i can send you via email to get you started I use it on my 450 quad so it will need some tweaking.
Once you have flashed the AIOP with MPNG firmware you can update it via mission planner with the Param file.
PM me your email address and I';ll forward it.
Phil.

Royston

Hi all and thanks for advice.
This may be me talkig through a different part of my anatomy but I';ve got a Peter King 450 quad running, I think, mega pirate.
Would I be able to use the same com port in Mission Planner to transfer settings etc. to the new board on X525? ? :crossfingers:
Regards
Roy

Gaza07

Yea you can load the same firmware and then save the parameters from one board to the computer and then load them on to the next board, although this might not give the results you think it will as the frames are quite different  ~~

Royston

Hi Gaz
Worth a go though as a starting point?

Gaza07

Yes deff worth a go as it could work a treat to, each frame or frame type tends to be a bit different when it comes to tuning but you could find it works just fine  ~~

Thanks a lot gaza.
Would you then just change the virtual com port for the new model.
Regards
Roy

Gaza07

Windows will sort the com port allocation out it may well use the same com port if the boards are the same  ~~
