Has anybody figured out how to make a retract set up for a 450 using the cheapo HobbyKing electric retracts yet.. I';ve seen 2 versions with promise  a 5Kg plastic cased one and a slightly more expensive metal cased one.. The move 90 degrees.

I would like to replicate the ones on the 800 I';ve recently seen but have too many projects on to start figuring this out so the u/c is out of the FoV of the camera gimbal .. Also it will look pretty cool  ::)

I';ve seen it on the 800 but I haven';t seen anyone doing one on the 450 like you say it will be very good and look cool, if I see anything I will post here maybe some one else has already seen some thing like it  ~~

Hi Gaz,
cheers... It wouldn';t be rocket science to sort out a system but as I mentioned, my project list is somewhat extensive this year and I just don';t have the time...
Here';s just the major stuff I need to sort ...
2  x 1/3rd scale WW1 models to build
1 x 1/3rd scale Cub recover and refit..
Single channel  retro fly-in event to organise for June 16th
Approx 14 vintage radio sets to restore for my mates  and my  Radio Control Museum   www.singlechannel.co.uk

Oh and the less important stuff..
The house to repaint externally.. I can';t believe I let myself be convinced that cream painted render was a good idea :banghead: :banghead:
4 rooms to redecorate
My sons car to repair and get sold ..

I';m stopping now.. this is becoming depressing... :wack0 :wack0

my hovercraft is full of eels....

I had better stop now before his gets out of hand and Multicopters UK forum becomes a Python phrase book

Back to retracting undercarriages.

Have you seen the laughable cost of the retracts for the 800 :o

No doubt HobbyKing or RC Timer will bring out a low cost alternative soon..

Gaza07

All the DJI products are a bit high priced but the gimbal and undercarriage are erm
cant be long now before we see cheap clones of both items on the market  ~~

Have you seen the DJI search light £30 for a plastic torch you have to hot glue to your phantom

The only real value item is the 450 Flamewheel frame.. £30.00 from Heliguy.  Although the frame is a bit heavy, it';s superbly engineered

When you think that a fully spec';d  Wookong M is approaching £2000.00 grand  ish , the   3DR APM 2.5  with GPS  is  an absolute steal for £300.00  ish for the virtually same thing ( ok not using an XBee )

Admittedly, you are paying a premium for a good plug and play product with the Naza / Wookong

And I thought we were in a world wide  recession :blink
