Well ive been looking for a case to save my tbs disco being knocked about and came across a thread on fpvhub with this link so ive now purchased one purely for the tbs not the radio.

It would be interesting to see if a 450 quad will fit. I have an aluminium case for mine.

mickyt

Are you thinking props on i think a 450 with props on may fit but the tbs wont

Hi mickyt, yes props on as I like to get a quick flight in after work in the fields at the back of my house so need it ready to go.
It would need 380 x 540 minimum internal with 8" props on.

Hi Mick,

Yeah, I saw this at our local Maplins the other day and it does look rather nice!!! Yummie! I did consider it for my tbs, but rather on the small side i thought. I didn';t even think it would fit in without the props! I am surprised!

I do use Peli cases to take my work laptop around and also to keep some other bits n bobs! Peli cases are expensive (after all they are military grade), but I do find http://www.waterproof-cases.co.uk rather competitive on prices.

Let us know how you get on and what it looks like with the tbs in!

Do you know if it comes with the foam in? also the dimensions?

Stef

I am kinda wondering if it will fit in this..

Waiting on vendor confirming interior size.. obviously would need dividers removed.. and some foam...  but looks right size..

Stef it come';s with two peices of foam with the case i won';t get the case till next week so wont know anymore untill it arrive';s.

Craig that';s a nice case like the trolly dolly wheels makes for easier transporting too and from your flight location save';s carrying it  ~~.

AM556 as soon as it arrives i';ll let you know any info i can ~~

Both cases look good guys, but I';m a kinda Peli girl when it comes to my rotors. I need something ruff and tuff! If I was taking my quad on holiday I think the dolly case would be good tho! Mick keep us posted and Craig let us know the sizes!

Is there a case of choice for a 450 size quad?

mickyt

Not that ai know of its just a case of looking around to see if there';s anything big enough but they can get very expensive upto £300 £400 for a one case fits all your gear senario

mickyt

dji f550, still running standerd running gear, with auora 9 controller, 2 x 6000mah nano-tech, 1 x 8400mah nano-tech, 1 x 5000mah turnigy, carbon gimbal with Aeroxcraft landing gear, gopro 3 black edition camera, and to top it off LED's all round for night flying (has to be done)

Mine is an aluminium one, only on steroids. It';s one intended to carry 1000 CDs and I converted it to a two layer case, carries my 450 with props attached.

Nice where you buy that??

Found it on Ebay (£25), no big loss if it didn';t fit I thought. You';ll find them for less than £45 new with a huge number of CD sleeves. The partitions will need to be removed (drill out the rivets) and you may want to strengthen the sides by reusing the removed alloy pieces.
The cases in question have 4 sections and are listed under "1000 CD case".
If you need foam, search for "egg case foam" or "eggshell foam" and by far the best way to cut this is with an electric carving knife.
