Servo travel modification

Has enyone done the servo mode were you add two
Resisters to the ground and positive wires inside the servo to get more travel .it looks like I';ve got the 45 deg servo
Dident no there was a difference. And I need more travel
For the yaw on my tricopter...
Or will it burn out the servo or damage it

No personal experience of 45degree servos but my understanding is that servos just a variable resistor (that will have a set travel for full resister rating change) and a motor/gears that tries to drive the arm connected to the resister to a set point.
I would be surprised if a 45degree servo used the same resistor travel as a normal range one but just moves a small part of the travel (I could be wrong).
To find out I';d look at the potentiometer and carefully see if it does have enough useable range for the throw required. Adding any resistors to the pot to change its range can';t drive it beyond its end points.

That';s what could be a retract servo but if it is it wouldn';t centre, they only travel one way usually about 90 degrees.
It could a lso be broken wiring, but I don';t think so. If I were you I would get a replacement and then have a go at trying to make it work - or vice versa if you';re not bothered about time.

I';m having some real trouble with this yaw servo
I';ve built a simple copter simple yaw system..
But can';t get the servo to travel 60 deg ( just read the box)
It';s a 60 deg one )
It';s a new metal geard servo ....
The only way I can get it to travel  the full 60 deg is put it directly to the gear input on the rx and flick the gear switch
If I put the servo on aileron elivater ruder it only travels
About 20deg
I have a dx6i and am using acro plane mode to set up the tricopter
Im sure its a set. Up problem

Sounds like your endpoints need adjusting on the rudder stick.
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

It could be endpoints but I doubt whether you would get that much extra travel unless it';s set really low (less than 100%) you should be able to go up to 125% without damaging the servo so I would give it a go.

thanks guys I';ve cracked it it was the end points
