SimonK firmware for ESC's

How much difference would upgrading my ESC';s to the SimonK firmware?.  Should I wait until I get the quad flying before deciding to upgrade the ESC';s.  What things would I notice on flying the quad that would indicate the upgrade would make a difference?

Not necessary to upgrade immediately or at all.  But it does make for a smoother, quieter quad.  There are some vid on YouTube showing the improvement with before and after examples.  Its like the resolution or steps in motor speed change are much closer and reaction time in change of motor speed is faster, which reduces oscillation on your quad in flight.  Something like that anyway.  Check out Chris';s guide on here, to update ESC with SimonK the easy way.  :)

Personally I would flash them sooner rather than later, I';ve only just done it and the difference was totally unbelievable.  So much smoother than I ever anticipated.  Plus now that I';ve flashed them I have to go through all the PIDs again.

Thanks to all of you.  I have ordered  the atmel socket from HK to make it easier to do the HK Blue Series 20A ESC';s.  Waiting on lots of stuff for the quad.  I';m getting impatient.
