When 4 blades is too many

So having used my HK Q450 as an initial dip into the multi rotor waters it then served as a test bed for the Crius AIOP board and as a proving ground for my FPV efforts. As it passed all it';s tasks with flying colours and I am looking forward to a new quad platform for my FPV I thought - what could I do :hmm:

So here are the beginnings of my home brew tri copter. I will be using a KK2.0 for the board, 1200KV motors with the Plush 18A ESC';s. In fact it';s just the same as the quad but with one less arm

Hopefully it wont be a disaster. Had the Savox servo from my FBL helicopter, got the steering arm mounts from HobbyKing and the rod through the middle that it all pivots on is (I think) a main shaft from a Blade SR helicopter that was in my box of goodies. I have to say it works quite well on the bench and is a widely used method for making the yaw mechanism.

Gotta love this hobby, you can';t bodge a helicopter with cable ties :whistling:

That looks very nice - it will be great to see it in the air!
One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Cheers Gary :beer2:

Waiting on some M3 nuts and bolts to arrive so I can cobble the frame together.

Having a spare top and bottom plate and a Dremel with a cutting disc has meant I have had a few options as to how to bodge a new frame together.

All good fun and is keeping my fingers busy until I can get the bits (and the money) together for my FPV platform

Bolts arrived so have done a dry run on fitting the frame together and make sure it all lines up. Have just ordered some M3x6 button heads to match up with all the new ones as it will look a little odd with a mix of heads on view.
