Hi All!

So I';ve just bought myself a full TBS Discovery kit w/Core, Naza+GPS, Graupner props, along with a Spektrum DX8 / AR8000.

Not going to lie, feel a bit sick atm :)

You';ll feel worse when it';s time to maiden ;)

@Biffa - You';re absolutely right....

Well, it';s built... Going to try for a maiden flight in about an hour.... Still got bits to add to it, ie: telemetry (on order), FPV (at a later date) and GoPro... but the basics are there for a test flight.

Gah...

Good luck matey, hope it goes well for you :crossfingers:

It works!

And oh my god that thing is amazing!

Didn';t get any footage of it; I was too concerned with learning how to fly it, and VinHex was too concerned with answering my questions :)

He also stopped breathing when I asked how to, and tested, the fail-safe fly-home feature by switching off the TX. :P

So, next steps will be strapping the telemetry unit I have on order to it (Spektrum SPMA9587), then get the FPV and GoPro later... :P

Yeah, well and truly bitten by the bug!

Wonder if someone who';s built one of these can help; using this diagram:

Can I attach a voltage monitor from a TM1000 to the 2nd +/- port in the bottom middle on the edge of the bottom frame? Is actually connected on the other end? Is this meant to be reserved for something else?

Hi All,

Bit of a nasty one this: What';s the best hacky way of evening out a CoG on a Disco? More to the point, should I?

The reason being I';ve got my GoPro mounted in it';s case on it';s stand at the front of the unit. Forward weight isn';t too much of a problem, but it';s slightly off to the right side of the center by a few cm. I don';t currently have an FPV kit installed and I don';t have anything else I can move with enough weight to counterbalance, so is it possible / should I try counter balancing the rear left side with a small weight to even it out somewhat?

Hi Brian,

Oh! Big Congrats! One word of advice, you might want to program the RTL onto a switch for your first test at least if anything goes wrong, then you can flick a switch and regain control.

Speak soon,

Stef
