Always smile because you never know who could be falling in love with it. :) Drone Operator in North Wales. www.aerialworx.co.uk

I don';t think it would work, if you started the turbine up it would most likely spin on its neutral axis - too much power in the wrong place!

Yeah....125,000 RPM should do it   as that is what the 12lb thrust jobby usually operates at.  Some go to 35lb thrust.......with a max RPM of 250,000.
Bad enough trying to control a simple quad never mind one  GT powered. :frantic:
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

This can be done,,, I ordered a Stingray 500, however I have been messing with thisvariable pitch idea for some time.

If a jetcat with a power take off is used, and could be theoretically used in a modded stingray 500 chassis what people are calling a "space taxi 64" design...

Although the turbine is attractive as cool goes I am going to mess with a dual motor then dual piston version with the hope to get some size.

For a while we have been using prox sensors for ground clearance...

Looking like I will be breaking out my old large heli equipment to see if I can build a 90 minute flyer

Already been there, the quad in the vid is just carrying dead weight.
You need a turbine with a power take off to a transfer box with at least three power take offs
and 4 for a quad then you have to work out where to put the fuel,
i run two AMT Turbines one 36lbs thrust and the smaller 20lbs thrust
the smaller gives me just over 6 minutes flying time with enough for two landing attempts
carrying 4.5 litres of fuel the 36pounder gives me 7.5 minutes on 8litres
this is my DJI330 just having a problem fitting the fuel tank.
