I have two of these on my TBS in case of ditching in water, they each lift 1kg, so hopeing two will bring it the surface. I know there will be water damage.. but at least it wouldnt be a total loss..

It was someone on the forum that suggested them.. but cant remember who..  crazy thing is.. had one on my boat keys.. and never thought of using them on the multi...

Water damage "might" be negligible. I dunked my 450 upside down into 12" of water a few weeks back, props were still running underwater a min later when I got to it. I fired up my air compressor, blew it out and dried it out in front of the fire overnight. After a re flash, everything worked fine!

Appears obtaining these may be a problem! Fleabay have only a couple listed, one optimistically priced at £118 for ONE!!  Cannot find any stock anywhere.

I have emailed the manufacturers to see what is happening. This looked like a really good idea to limit possible losses over water! They may have diversified into illuminated kids balloons....

I will update if/when I get a reply

Bit of research confirms that the Dragons Den offer he got was finally declined by him as he decided to diversify into the ';Illoom Balloons'; http://www.illoomballoon.com/ as there was no money in the flotation thing....

QuoteNow James has secured exclusive listings in Tesco and sold over half a million Illoom Balloons on his first order. His dream is to have the product in every home on the planet and plans are already in line to launch the product in America.

I have to say I';ve seen these everywhere ... all supermarket shelves have them in abundance ... so he';s making a killing and presumably the Water Buoys have been ditched - so what stock that';s available now was presumably only ever from the first production runs... shame - but that';s profit for you ... :)

XH558, I fear you';re right! His web site has lots of grand words back in 2008 on the "Waterbuoy and lots more to follow".  Funny how these things pop up as a good idea then fade even quicker!

I';m not expecting any reply but I';ll post it if I get one!

Manufacturer just said awaiting new model. 5 years to produce?

Found a seller on Fleabay with stock. £9 each with free p+p. Ordered a couple as a partial security aid if I ever fly over water. Reckon they';d clip on easy enough when needed!

Hope I never have to test them!   :hmm:

Insurance has arrived. 60 grams for the pair, shouldn';t overload anything!
