Turn up the yaw stick scaling

Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

10x4.5 props? Depends entirely on the motors and battery you are using.

You wouldn';t run 1045 props with 4S.

I';ve never tried but wouldent you get good thrust with  a 1045 on 4 s

Just to add the KK2 default firmware is awful, it will fly loads better on either rc911 or steveis firmware - either are a huge improvement over stock, I have used rc911 firmware for ages with great results, its what I';ve used for all my 250 proximity and racing.

Updating firmware is really easy, if you have the USBasp dongle (or even easier if you know someone who has it and can flash the board for you) just use the kkmulticopter flash tool and pick from the list:

hi  i am using 4s batterys with 1045 props i got told motors are sunnysky 940kv but theres no writing on them as there off a secondhand quad i bought  but seems to thrust really well  also the firmware is  1.9s1 Stevie';s  on kk2

guest325

Your props are a bit big for 4S, I wouldn';t use any bigger than  9x4.5. 5 on that setup. My F450 used to run 8x4.5 on 4S but it didn';t offer any real advantage over 9x4.5 on 3S.

vek

ok i will try some 9 x45';s and c if theres any difference the stick scaling worked a treat guys  ~~even turned it up a bit for pitch and roll the 450 moves quite quick now  :blink better than i thought it would checked my motors after a 15 min run and they were just warm

guest325

If your motors and esc';s are only a bit warm then you will probably be OK with those props, they must be quite efficient in that case. The advantage of going for the 9" is that it should feel more responsive and behave better when it';s windy.

...also the firmware is  1.9s1 Stevie';s  on kk2

Steveis 1.9 is also old fw... He is on 1.19 now.
F330 with Naza M lite V2 for FPV - TBS carbon clone with Naza M lite V2 for use with GoPro - F450 with KK2 to learn flips....
Next project is a F550 hex with Naza M lite V2 for GoPro on gimbal.
Spektrum DX6i and TGY 9x with ER9x and FRSky DJT module

vek

ok i am going to try 9x45';s anyway to c how it goes also is the 1.19 firmware better if so should i update or leave well alone ?? what are the differences kev

The fw has been updated ten times since 1.9 so would think it is better ;). I donĀ“t use Steveis, I use RC911 AiO and can recommend that. Flies great on stock setting on most flyers I have tried it on.

I use 9x4.7 props on my 4S camera quad and another 3S quad as well (Hercules 500)
10x4.5 do have excellent thrust on a 3S quad. (450 - 680 size)
