Well I managed to get a flight at last without joining the mile high club again.

So the Spider gets under control at last  ~~

~~ that looks  like thats flying very well indeed matey, how long has it taken you to get it to this stage?.
If someone throw's a stone at you throw a flower at them just remember to throw the pot with it.

Looking very good, seems to be nice and stable - well done!

Smeagol

It took a while to resolve some issues during the build, but despite being ready not long after Christmas, this is only the third outing.

When I first lifte dthe spider into the air, it doesn';t seem to be that stable, in that it doesn';t hold position, it drifts away. I waited for the Naza to pickup all the sats, and was flying in GPS mode.

After a short while the stability appeared to improve, could be just me being new, we';ll see on subsequent flight.

Nice one Ian pleased to see you in the air  :bravo:

It was a good feeling actually being able to control it to some degree at least, quite daunting as i';ve never done any RC before.

I need to adjust the voltage monitoring on the naza too, forgot to change the settings.

:bravo:  Ian very nice well done, all the hard work has paid off,Marty. :scotland:

I';ve noticed similar behaviour with mine...seems to improve the longer it';s in the air??  I was wondering if it';s a temperature thing? Maybe it';s needs a little time to stabilise.  Either that or as it continues to fly it picks up more satellites and can retain a better position hold.

Would be interested to know if next battery, it still wanders in first minute or so of flight.  Mines rock solid after first battery normally.

:beer2: Marty, well pleased to actually get in the air properly at last.

I changed the battery and had the same drift, for a short time, it wasn';t a particularly cold day. I';ll monitor next time i';m out.

Balders

just did a flight with mine.  First 2 minutes or so it was really flying backwards with no input, added a few clicks of trim, and then after a few more mins, started gradually removing the trim until all trims were back to centre and it was holding good.

Not sure if it';s a temperature thing...pretty cold here today and it did go from my warm ish lounge to outside, although I did leave it for a bit first (5 mins probably).

Thinking about yesterday, mine did the same, it flew backwards, I turned it around on the ground and it went backwards again.

I checked the balance and it was ok, I haven';t done any trimming at all - should I do I need to

That looks really good in the air - well done!
