I have flashed a lot of rctimer esc's now but I did get one that didnt work properly although it was one of those you get that wont stop beeping on power up

I never found out why this happens and never got it working right even after re-flashing a couple of times

I flashed a few Rctimer 10a Esc,s and they would jitter like this and then burn out the esc I found out after that there is a problem with the SimonK firmware and the Rctimer 10a esc,s, I have also flashed 20a / 30a rctimer esc,s with no problems,
the speed difference is very noticeable  ~~

It funny you should mention that because I flashed a 10a version and had exactly the same response as you it got very hot then released the magic smoke and we all know once the magic smokes escapes the esc is dead, I wasn't sure if it was just a dodgy esc but as you said if it has been reported as a problem then I will stay clear of the 10a Rctimers  ::) ::)

I looked seriously at SIMONk but couldn't get to the bottom of just how much difference it would make to me. I ended up with TurnigyPlush 30A on the Octo and updating at 460hz. The Turnigy low pass filters don't seem to be a problem. I'm running 4S on 710Kv motors (Tigers) 0 do you thing its worth a try with flashed RCTimers ?

I've flashed 4 of the 20 and 4 of the 30 amp RCTimer speed controllers without any problems, and found they worked a lot better afterwards in terms of speed and responsiveness.

I've also just flashed 4 of the 10 amp RCTimer speed controllers. I haven't tested them yet but had been assuming they'd work just the same as the 20 and 30 amp ones. I'm a bit worried after reading of other peoples experiences but all i can do is try them now really.

I might have a copy of the original firmware, I will check and if I find it send you a copy  ~~

The simonK firmware is so much better that I'm tempted just to run them flashed and see what happens   :-\

I want to get a small quadcopter up and flying because i like the idea of being able to fly around in spaces i can't risk my larger quads in.

They will burn for sure, they will lock up while running then the esc will burn out, I find the rctimer esc,s very good but the 10a are the exception they are crap even before they are flashed  :o ::)
