Have I goosed my Rx

I started to update the firmware on my D8R-xp to change the timing so all 8 channels are available on CPPM, All was going OK got the UID number, clicked the download button, it got to 15% complete, got up to make a cupper and managed to pull the FUC 3 lead out of the laptop  So started again, but now I don';t get the UID number coming up and just tried it with the TX no lights on the Rx ( jumper plug 7-8 removed) and it';s not responding to any Tx inputs

Usually not good when that happens, depends on the hardware as to weather its possible to still flash it.

Have you gone through all the steps in the guide linked below

That';s the same info I got from the FrSky site, but now when I get to step 5 I don';t get the UID number it just shows the file location of the update C:/users/user/Documents/frsky/DR8-XP_CPPM_27ms
