Lazy zero flash tool:
http://lazyzero.de/en/modellbau/kkmulticopterflashtool
Firmware:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2340156
Read all of the instructions on both applications and you should be ok.

Jazzz

I';ve gone for the kk2.1 v1.6++aio is that ok there are a few newer ones but I thought this one might be ok it';s on my kk now but it would be easy to Chang as I';m still all set up

Jazzz

Or should you always go for the latest version

guest325

Not sure, I';ve only used Steveis firmware.
its always better to go for the latest version in case bugs have been fixed.

Jazzz

Thinking about it, when you load the flash tool you may be able to choose the right firmware from the menu.

Jazzz

Yes you can I think it was luck more than judgment that I got it all right in the first place you have a lot of options to choose from like 34megabit
Or 64 wich usbasp have you got I just left that at the first option
Then looked to see wich one of the many firmware options to choose from so I when for the latest rc911 loaded it on to the kk
Sett it up all I had to do was motor layout and acc calibration
In the new firmware
Test flown it in the back garden and it flue fine PID did not need tuning
On test but will have to wait and see when I get to the field
Cheers again Darrell

Hi all

talking of Stevies Firmware for the KK2 at the moment I am using v1.18 although the latest is v1.19.  I tried 1.19 but noticed that many of the default setting where miles away from the same default setting on v1.18 and as v1.18 flies well I didn';t want to tempt things with 1.19 so went back to 1.18, any one know why the default settings are so different between these two F/W versions.

Thanks

Paul

Different firmware may need different settings due to what alterations have been made.
You can always try it and if you don';t like it flash it back again.
I would recommend RC911';S if you want stock pids to be pretty good, never altered any of mine.

I always download RC911s latest from his blog on RCG and flash from file instead of from the net. You can choose to do that on the flash tool. Always upgrade my board when he put up a new version, newer needed to alter much from default settings to get it to fly right. Latest now is AiO R5. When you download the file you also get a readme file and a tips file. Recommend you read them to know how to use all potential in his sw ;)
