Managed to sneak out this morning for a few more test flight and get some in flight video.  This is taken from the onboard video recorder.  There is a lot of vibration on it so need to work out how I can get rid of that or it will drive me made when I get the goggles.  Any ideas

Still got to get to grips with how it flies but will get there in the end.  It does not help that at the min I only have 2 sets of batteries for it

Nice Video there Rappy  ~~ your getting the dreaded jello affect from the vibes, Teslahed is testing some anti vibe blue sticky sheet maybe you could attach the camera on some thing like that and use velcro to hold it in place, do you balance your props ?

Gaza07

Thats pretty good for your first try, do you have any pics of how the camera is mounted ?
as madmax said maybe you could use some of the Gel based vibration absorption mat as shown by Teslahed in this thread http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php/topic,92.msg753.html#msg753

Thanks guys will have a look at them pads.  I had the camera mounted under the nose at the front and held in with velcro and a strap.  Now I have moved the camera into the cage above the nose and have used a sticky pad to see if that helps.  I did a quick test last night and it seemed better but the system went into low voltage mode and it landed lol.  Hoping to get a test done today at work.

I am planning on using the area I am cutting out for the race track as a training area for flying, following the track with the Scorpion...........really I just like playing  ~~

Oh and no I have not balanced the props, something else really I should get done

Rappy Freak

After mounting the camera with sticky foam inside the front cage the vibe seems a lot less.  Having a grass cutting session again on Saturday if the weather is ok and hoping to have a fly too so will get a better test flight in

You should get te farmer to put all his sheep in there they would soon munch their way through all that grass

Rappy Freak

Lol he did at one point but they kept getting out some how.  After flying I would turn round to find 50 sheep stood at the top of the hill watching..........

When I used to fly planes at skegness there were often quite a lot of sheep in the field, as soon as I started to fly they would run to the other end or one corner then If I flew that way they would run the other, not that I would low fly over sheep of course  ;)
The farmer came across the filed on his quad (bike) and said he was impressed how well the sheep could be rounded up with the plane and that I could do a better job than he could on his quad
I did ask him if it would bother the sheep and he said no  it cant be any worse than him chasing them from one filed to another with his quad  ~~

At least the weather has changed for the better for you, all its done is rain and then more rain  :o

Rappy Freak

Yeah weathers good up here today.  Have been out this morning and just check the video.............still lots of vibe  :(  Any suggestions for prop balancing without having to buy a proper balance? Will put some pics up later of where the camera is mounted as well.

MadMax

You really need to get the proper tool for the job the great planes prop balancer is said to be one of the better ones you can get one from here http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=1514 I wouldnt go for the finger tip one

[attachimg=1]

Gaza07

That's the prop balancer that I use they are very good, I had it from my plane flying days, well I still have a couple of planes I just don't fly them very often these days

Rappy Freak

Cool, nice one.  Will look at getting the finger tip one me thinks
SkyNet shall rise!!!!!!

MadMax

I would pay the extra and get the magnetic one as the finger one will be affected by the friction of your fingers, the magnetic one is friction free  ~~
