a set of dal (trapezoid) t5044';s Ive been wanting to try out for a while

far lighter than the usual dals I use but also far thinner and very VERY sharp edged (Id hate to get hit by one, itd be like a razor blade at speed), tbh Im also a little disappointed with them, though the amp draw is probably less than my other Dals so is the punchout pace  :cry

oh well least other goodies arrived....

A Naze rev6 for the new design Im still working on
A osd board for the one I just finished
and a IR LED array for a ickle night vision project Im doing on the side.

Now if only the slow-arsed kitchen fitters would get their arses in gear and finish my kitchen I can have my workroom back (currently a temp kitchen) and I can get to work again..... crazy project plans are just piling up as we speak.

OOOOooooo look at the shiny shiny

Yeah....... Why don';t my quads look like that?

All mine have varying combinations of muck smears in inaccessible places and grass stain anywhere near the props. I think the only way I could get some of mine "Photo shoot ready" would involve a total strip down and a stint in the dishwasher ! :)
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.

10pairs of racerstar 5048 tri boomarang props to try out

......

just tested them out and so far...........

ME LIKEY

dunno what the amp draw is like (their pretty light weight wise though so should help in that aspect) but they give plenty of punchout pace and much better thrust than the trap. dals I just tested (they even seem more capable than the 5050 tri';s I generally use.

just annoyed now as I have to wait in for the kitchen tiler and cant get down to the field to give them a proper go.

I use exactly the same stick caps on all my TX';s. I find the ones FlySky fit to most of their transmitters are real thumb shredders.

These ones offer plenty of grip without the need to have a skin graft after every flight. :)

Got two parcels today.
First one was this......

It';s one of the "MultiStar Premium Multirotor Travel Backpacks" from HobbyKing. They were on offer and I thought what the hell. First impression is that it';s a pretty nice bit of kit. Pockets everywhere, Plenty of room inside, And places to strap sh*t all over the outside.

Just to give you all an idea of scale, I started grabbing quads off my wall and dropping them in.......

That';s a pair of 250';s, A 180 and a 130 all snuggling safe and happy together. Looks like there';d also be room for my FPV screen and TX without any problems.

I really think this was one of my better quad transporting purchases......(You can';t see this, But I';m wearing my "Happy bunny face" at the minute. LOL !).

The other parcel had my pair of "Quanum Trifecta Foldable Tricopter Frames" and a couple of the recommended servos. I';ve been eyeing up these for a while but didn';t want to buy them from the Hong Kong warehouse, But when I saw that they were also on offer I decided to just go for it and grabbed two so the shipping didn';t feel so f**kin'; redicules.

I';ve opened one of the boxes and found that they';re completely in kit form (No pre-built sub assemblies at all), So I pushed the main bits together to get an idea of what it';s going to be like, And I';m thinking I';m pretty chuffed with this purchase too. It goes from being a reasonable sized tricopter to something that could almost fit in a jacket pocket !!! OK, With motors and blades on it';s going to be a bit chunkier, But it';s still going to be a bloody small "Glove Box sized" package.

I';m intending to use 3 of the ESC';s on one of the 4 in 1 ESC';s I';ve got in my spares draw (I';ve used them like this before when I fitted a pair to my hex without any issues). If I de-solder the ESC';s motor wires and reattach them at more convenient angles it should just about fit where the PDB should go. I';m also thinking I should be able to make a tight stack of the FC, VTX, and RX under that cage type cover up top. If it won';t fit I could always space the cover up a little with longer bolts and drilled out nylon standoffs.

I just wish I';d got these when I was on my 2 week holiday, Because I';m now back at work and probably won';t have time to build these for a little while. :(
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.

Still working on the sub 250g 5 inch mate, rest of components should be here next week, but whilst I was looking at it I figured I could try a 4 inch sub 250 frame, Air-Ro currently in Poland on its way from the US (I don';t understand either)

My new FPV frame arrived, very quick from china but one of the arms is not straight it sits up about 5mm when all the other 3 are flat on the ground, nothing i can do about it

What material are the arms? If they are thermoplastic you should be able to warm the bow out (very gently) but I would take a photo and ask for replacement anyway!

Have you flown with them yet? Let us know how you get on as they are very cheap and easy to get. Also what will you be using them in?

Might work, but hurts me to say not impressed with with the fit of this frame, seems like all the holes are out of wack, would send it back but return freight to china is to pricey, i guess i could drill some of the holes over size but should not have to do this on a new frame, i cant see me building this as it does not meet my standards. Gonna have to rethink this project, i have a F330 frame but the LF mini discovery that would make a nice FPV outfit, decisions  :-/

Flies like a dream. I took a punt on one and fell in love with that pack - okay, I';ve been strapping BRICKS to my quad for the last 5 years, so it';s GONNA be a big difference. There';s a link to the amazon page in the description. They';re only 40c but pack enough punch for me for the timebeing.

I have to be a bit more careful with the fly time though, ';cos I';m used to getting 10-15 mins out of a pack  :o
