- 2x Inspire battery heaters
- A very sexy helping hand with LED magnifier
- A soldering mat
- A USB rechargeable desk fan (Incredibly quiet and powerful)
- A new gaming mouse (My 2nd RAT5 has started playing up so time to jump ship)

Phew, good thing I won';t be spending a penny for three solid weeks once I hit this weekend.

I run a twice weekly two hour long after school RC club for 11-17 years olds including Special Needs like ADHD, etc, starting with Mardave 1/12th cars but moving into Helis and Multis (fleet of Hubsan X4';s!).

Since the new school building transfer two years ago the vinyl floor in the area we have to race on means we have to lay special carpet rolls for each session and the joins need taping, also the safety edging and islands is square drainpipe, which all has to be taped together. 

(Last week one day we had break and did a "build a chuck glider from correx" competition, and several managed to design, make and trim out in an hour some good flying "objects", one even looked like a plane with a 3D section fuselage and high tail!)

Today the post dude brought a replacement vtx for my walkera rodeo 150 after it suffered a ';little'; crash. Note to self: Don';t think you';re a better than you actually are and fly fpv akro in 25-30mph gusts of wind.

You thinking... Overkill?!?     Just came down to economics.     Bought the parts real cheap from Hobbyking';s UK warehouse.  Paid for postage the one time and paid around a quid each for most of the spares - about 6-7 times cheaper than from other UK suppliers and 3-4 times cheaper than Chinese resellers!  They were stupid cheap, so I bought a whole load and actually left HK out of stock of some stuff.   ::)  Figured I can sell the bits I don';t use when the time comes.   

The expensive bits are anything electrical - the PDB, FC, esc';s, motors, VTX and RX, so I only bought one VTX I needed after my 150 performed a forward roll onto its back and straight into the ground.  Doh!

It';s all charged, set up and ready for the maiden !
Mega easy to set up which I';m very impressed with, quite a few nice features on the app, looking forward to seeing it in the air.

For tips on the Phantom, it';s advisable to perform a compass calibration often and always when having changed the take-off location.

Make sure the home point is accurately recorded before take off.  Fly away';s are mostly due to either compass calibration issues or home point problems.

Check for stress cracks in the arms beneath and around the motors.  These can appear out of the blue.

Balance the props if you want the best possible video footage.

Guessing this isn';t relevant to you (!) but unless you';re looking to fly in tight spaces (such as indoors) don';t bother with prop guards as they';re more hassle than help.

Be aware of CSC (control stick commands) for stopping the motors, which ARE functional mid flight!  Holding the left stick to the bottom right and the right stick to the bottom left will kill the motors and have the quad fall out the sky.  I believe DJI updated the kill motor feature in newer firmware so that it also works by holding the left stick bottom right and holding the RTH button.  Crazy.  Just get used to NOT using those stick inputs.  Simply land the craft and continue holding the throttle stick down for 2-3 seconds to stop the motors.

Make sure you';ve removed the gimbal protector before flight!   

Calibrate the gimbal in the GO app for best footage.

I don';t want to teach anyone how to suck eggs but start off slowly, utilise the GO app and always be aware of the Phantom';s position (height and physical location).  Make sure you have good GPS signal and, if you loose video feed for a second or 2 consider your location and manoeuvre the P3 so you don';t loose FPV image completely (trees and buildings do break the signal fairly easily at a distance).  Until you';re used to the P3 bring it home when the battery percentage hits 50% - especially when having flown a good distance.

couple of drop down regulators (4s to stable 12v), useful for FPV setups when you dont wanna squeeze in a pcb with a 12v bec.

and a red tyre paint pen to add some sexiness...








oh and a couple of non quad related humane mouse traps cos its getting into field mouse season and my bengals on a mission to bring me back atleast one a night and I prefer catching and releasing them rather than killing the poor sods after they';ve already been through the trauma of my bengals bad breathe.

Only received one of the BG tiny whoop style FC';s today. I took about 2 hours before I realised that nothing I did would put it into DFU mode. Just to configure it I had to reinstall an earlier version of Cleanflight. Looks like I can';t update it.

I fitted it to the Eachine E011 and killed the smallest AIO cam I had. I wanted to split the VTX and cam to allow me to lay the VTX down and get a lower profile. It would have worked too, if........ Erm, It didn';t work after the surgery. :)

Oh well. I';ve hot glued a more traditional AIO cam setup on top and I';ve been zipping it around the house since.

This thing';s SOOOOOOO much fun. With the E011';s 7mm motors and 260mah batteries it copes with being FPVed a hell of a lot better than my modified E010 ever did.

Anyway, The chargers just been beeping, And that means this things 6 cells are charged....... IT';S PLAYTIME AGAIN !!!!! :)

I got a rather nice mobius/runcam gimbal fitted it to the S550 and even managed to connect up the pitch to channel 6 on radio, hope to field test tomorrow, been after a decent mobius gimbal for ages

Fat shark 18650 battery holder. I built my own which was fine until it had a short and scared the crap out of me! Couldn';t trust it even after I made a new one so decided to get something more official!

I can only assume the Toggle Push button is this boards version of the 3 selecting buttons on the board I actually ordered

I could wire it up and try and fins out....

let me just get the documentation to check voltages, wiring pinout and..... oh wait.....havnt got that.

maybe If just have a look at the board for the pinout labelling...... oh wait...... it doesnt have those either.

maybe Ill just go online and download the schematics..... of course Id need to know what this thing is to find them so..... yep havnt got that either
