Decided to do a bit of plane work over the bank hol weekend - first up, I decided my Venturi needed to be re-covered as the solarfilm/monokote seemed way too flimsy and scruffy...

Before;

After - 75mic laminate film with packing tape for colour;

(Bottom)

Next up, I decided to replace my Falcon with the new Falcon EVO;

Out with the old... (rather, strip electronics and keep the frame for future use)

In with the new...

Quite happy with the build, it may not be perfectly clean but its tidy enough for me!
The original plan was to fit it with a spare APM board, but the APM didn';t feel completely reliable on bench testing - at the last minute I decided to recycle an Acro Naze32, primarily to act as a PPM passthru (since I';d already routed & covered RX wire and didn';t feel like slicing things up) but I may try out stabilization since the wind is often quite harsh on the moors. Instead of sussing out MinimOSD on Naze (as I had planned with the APM), I';ve opted to use a Skylark TinyOSD since I love that unit so much and happen to somehow have 3 lying around.
TBS Discovery + ghetto printed gimbal, HovershipMHQ 1 & 2, QAV250, Turnigy Talon V2, chinese Alien500 thingie, 3d Printed Tricopter, Bix 3, Flyingwings.co.uk FalconEVO, Venturi EVO 1+2, Hornet Racing Wing, Radjet800 (by the dozen)... Permanent sucker for FPV, and lots and lots of OpenLR
