New product from DJI, Lightbridge 2 was announced a few days ago.. looks interesting as suggests they are standardising on the GoApp and Ipad / tablet interface with the Lightbridge embedded in a controller..  pros and cons.. but nice integration..  and for dual operator setups its going to cut down on the weight and cables...   you wont need iOSD, Two VTX';s, Two RX';s and all of the associated wiring..

Range looks good, and the dual operator interface also looks good... time will tell..  not much detail at the moment...

Rather irritating that it';s pretty closed system and forces you to use their own controller. I realise this is going to be a benefit for some but I prefer my Taranis.

Any word on how much the latency is actually improved?

Apparently the Amimon Connex is going to support DJI CAN-Bus (if it doesn';t already) in a future firmware which gives true low latency HD downlink with support for telemetry and PPM.
I reverse polarities for fun.

Jumpy07

I nearly bought Connex.. but loads of people having issues with it.. range not as good..

Yeah closed system.. so pros and cons..

Latency down to 50ms according to DJi

If the latency is down to that it is fantastic. But I would imagine the latenctywill be 50ms for the lower resolutions and more likely 100-200ms for 1080p@60fps.

The system isn';t truly closed, one could just use the DJI Tx as the receiver and then use your normal Tx for controlling the gimbal. I';d imagine they will push the price to around £1200-£1500 as the Rx is incorporated into the Tx.

Jumpy07

Yeah.. I think the latency will vary..  there are setting for quality v range in the app I have seen..

Also seen some posts that suggests you can use with other gimbals.. you will need to hack some cables..  and I guess you wont have the full functionality if you were all DJI kit..
