Turnigy 9XR Telemetry Hardware mod?

Anyone on here done the telemetry hardware mod?

I would like to do the hardware mod to get telemetry on my 9XR with FrSky DJT module. I understand that there are a few different ways to do this and I have confused myself to which one is the best.

I understand there is this one:
http://forum.turnigy9xr.com/converting-9xr-to-frsky-telemetry-djt-module-t362.html resistor/jumper method

or

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showatt.php?attachmentid=5863182 using MAX232 converter board

Could someone point out the best method to do the telemetry hardware mod?
Any particular problems to watchout for?

How are you planning to send the telemetry to the frsky module? What flight controller are you using?

I don';t understand the first part of the question. The fc is naze 32 boards

the first part of his question was how you intended to get the gps & voltage and accelerometer info into the rx to send back to the tx.  But if you are using a naze you just need to plug the naze and the rx together :)

Tim2100

If only it was so simple with an apm fc.  ;-)

you only need a transistor and a couple of resistors to make it that easy :)

but sorry to OP ... I';m afraid I don';t know which one is "better" ... I was going to do the resistor version but decided on the frsky screen instead.

Tim2100

Transistor & resistors.....  must look into this.... :-)

Will that level shift the output of the apm mavlink so that the FrSky will be able to read and interpret it for telemetry on opentx on a 9x/r?

barneyg

that is what I use for multiwii/megapirate on my crius aiop v2
