Having a few spare 450 arms and frmae boards I thought I would give the tricopter a go.
Remodeling the bottom 450 board to have a single arm at the back and fabricating a top board from 1.5mm carbon fibre.
Next job, the servo motor rocker for the rear.

More phots as the fram progresses.

Any tips and advice would be a great help.

have you sorted a steering mechanism for the rear yet?  I followed exactly the RCExplorer 2.5 build for mine.  Works like a charm.

My first multi was a tri, and I';ve always loved ';em.

All my "over water" video';s have been from my fpv tricopter.

Only comment I would have is, one really neat thing about my hexa';s is the fold up into nothing, whereas I guess yours is gonna be fixed.

Even still, I';m sure you';ll enjoy it immensly. Yaw authority is rock solid.

I';ll take a look. I';m going to use a Savox MG micro because their toguey and small. I have those 9g servos but i don';t rate them, not for something so inportent.

Desided to use a Hitec HS-985MG servo because it was lying around from when i built rock crawlers.

Still some refining to do to tidy it up but this should work.

simple as can be, although I';m not sure about all the lifting force effectively going through the servo rather than a shaft/pivot.

It should work fine, its got 9.5kg.cm of stall torgue my only concern is the 62g weight.

Desided against the direct servo mount and if it were that easy everyone would be doing it that way. Went with Barderses idea instead, makes more sense if its a proven design and much lighter.

Finish the tricopter last night but sadly no flying today, weathers shite.
Still got the gains to dial in but hopefully that won';t take to long.
