SUCCESS AGAINST HOBBYKING

Well chuffed.  Won my claim for a full  refund via Paypal against Hobbyking Honkers,  for selling a duff AIOP 2560  board  (the  one with the wrong voltage reg on it - $49.95).   A large number of these were sold and an equally large number of claims went in.
I did not have to send goods back and I believe it is partially workable for some projects. :beer2:

By the way..if you ever make a claim against a firm in the Far East via PAYPAL ..DO NOT  back down if they offer to pay your claim AFTER  you cancel your claim with PAYPAL.  Escalate the claim.
Let's be careful out there.
SAFETY is.. NO accident.

Well done Ross I think its a shame that people have had to fight for their money back, Hobby King should have put their hands up and just refunded people, it was their mistake and they shouldn';t expect their customers to pay for it shame on them   ~~

That';s a very good piece of advise that applies not just to Far Eastern Traders but if you';re buying on ebay too - I';ve had to claim for stuff I bought on ebay and the seller (a business) was most insistent that I cancel the claim before they issued a refund - no way! - this is the point at which you escalate the claim as Ross advised. You';re stuffed once you cancel the claim. Paypal assumed its resolved and you can';t re-open it.

Just another point to add though... my personal experience with Hobbyking and refunds has been very good

Out of all my orders with hking there have been a couple of miror issues but the major one was when a order was missing 3 parts (the most expensive part of the order).
I got nowhere with them and had to take it to dispute with paypal.
They promised to sort it out if I closed the dispute, & got to the point where they stopped communicating just saying close dispute.

Not a chance I told them.

Eventually paypal sorted it and I got the refund.

I will order from hking still but only when I really have to and try to make sure I order from the German or UK warehouse when I can.
