I made a plate and epoxyed it to the base plate of my quad, i then use 4 metal m3 screws to secure my flight control board to the plate i made. My question is should i have put rubber o rings between the fc board and the metal stand offs on the plate i made to mount the fc board?

I did on mine - i don';t think it will hurt at all;

Little silicon vibration dampening washers that fit over the M3 threaded bits - i put one either side of my flight controllers. I am not sure exactly how much difference it makes but it can';t hurt.

Lots of people mount their flight controllers on boards with double sided foam sticky tape then mount the boards to their quadcopters somehow. This would also work well. If you do want to use the nylon spacer tower stack without a board your best bet is the gromets / silicon rings.

I was thinking maybe a small o ring above and below the board

Maplin carry anti-vibration washers - not the cheapest, but then you';re not paying postage.

They have two versions, thinner harder black ones, and thicker softer white ones (those are the silicone ones). They also carry M3 nylon stand-offs in a couple of lengths.

I put my APM 2.5 in a 3DR case and used 2mm Futaba gyro mount pads to stick it on my clone 450.

These are the ones http://www.amazon.com/Futaba-Gyro-Foam-Mounting-30x30mm/dp/B0015H1C86. Interestingly I paid less at my LHS than that Amazon price

Trouble is I';m too new at this to know if it really works or not :confused:. :smiley:

Too cold, windy and snowy for any outside flying here at the moment.
