So just ordered a bambucopter crab 25 airframe, anyone recomend some motor and esc combos, also wheres the best place to get them as the ones ive looked at it the uk are stupidly high price? Also on a bit of a budget this close after xmas so was wondering about using a cheap kk fc board or anyone else got any ideas.
Here is the recomendations for the airframe
1 x IOI KKmulticopter or IOI Mini Multiwii Control Board
4 x  A1510 2200 kv or other Brushles motors
4 x 6Amp or 10Amp  ESC
4 x 5×3 Prop (2CW & 2CCW)
1 x 800mAh 2s 7.4v Lipoly battery (i have got 7.4 lipos so want to use them )

Have a look on Giant shark or Robotbirds, they both have reasonable motors / esc';s around that size for some of the profile foamies, they might be ok - if not there';s always HK if you can wait for the longer delivery times.

thanks for that, forgot GS do they have the same part numbers do you know?

The  A1510 2200 kv motors are completely rubbish. They will last about 5 mins and some of them not even that long - weak and spindly and prone to faliure.

I';ve been using these on my mini quadcopter - a similar size frame to yours - they are a little heavier, but much chunkier, stronger and more powerful.

and i am using the blue series 12 amp speedos that i flashed with the simonk firmware. On a small frame the advantages of the faster update rates with SimonK are even more obvious, my miniquadcopter didn';t fly at all well until i flashed them, then it was totally controllable;

but i suspect the performance on 2 cells may be a little bit lacking.

The best 5 inch props i';ve found are these ones;

They do green and black as well.

Don';t get the IOI Mini Multiwii Control Board - it has old sensors. If you want to go multiwii get anything with the MPU6050 - it';s the best sensor board avaiable and will fly much better. If you want something small, cheap and simple this looks ok;

the barometer isn';t the best so altitude hold will be a bit poor, but i presume you are building a mini quadcopter for stunt and fun flying rather than stable flight, altitude hold performance or GPS / waypoints etc. At least is uses the latest gyros and accelerometers so it will be great for stunts and the auto-level will be as good as any multwiii board.

I';m using the hardware i recomended in this video;

One circlip short of a quadcopter.
 1 lobe short of an antenna.

Right now ive finished my 450 quad im back onto the bambucopter, im on a real tight budget now too, so if anyone can recomend some motor and esc combos, i am interested in the ones sugested from hobbyking but dont know if i want to risk penny pinching customs, would prefer if someone had some second hand
