Ground behaviour using BARO

I have BARO mode assigned to a switch on my TX which I find handy to turn on when I want to keep my height within limits. It also saves me from the odd tumble from time to time when I get too low.

But I find it reluctant to land when on and when I do, I can';t disarm the motors as the throttle seems to be artificially raised below idle.

Is this normal behaviour? I should get into the practice of flipping the BARO off when I come into land, but I';m worried about the potential safety concern of forgetting then not being able to cut the motors if I need to ditch quickly if a person or dog etc gets too close (yes, spotters etc).

Thoughts?

AFAIK

Baro mode (or Altitude hold) is meant to keep you at your chosen height. So even if you try and land, the FC is still trying to keep at that height so won';t cut the motors, if you get me.

I would say, get into the practice of cutting Baro mode and taking control yourself. Even getting out of relying on Baro mode if possible. Practice will make perfect.
