I did mine yesterday, on a windoze 7 pro 64 bit machine. All worked fine, upgrade done nice and simple. Just need to fly to see what the difference is now.

I thought I needed the opticians ........

I can confirm it works brilliantly, it';s really stable, flies nice.
The only thing I noticed, not sure if anyone else has... on startup after plugging the battery in, it flashes 4x Amber then pause for 1 sec, 4x Amber again and pause, it does this between 10 seconds to 5 mins depending on how cold the temperature is outside.
I';ve never noticed it before, hopefully nothing to worry about.

RTL worked flawlessly too, a little OCD on landing, went to touch down, lifted up moved to the left about 1cm and landed lol.

Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

philtrum

i believe thats to allow the internal sensors to get up to temperature, once stable temp (so accurate readings) it then allows you to arm
Many Thanks

Worked simply from Win8.
Has removed the frantic wibbling on initial lift off  ~~
May need to take the gains down a little (as I did on the lite)

Painless :-)

Hi guys,

I have done this to three Lits and they now all fly incredibly well.

I had the runtime error to start with. My solution was to go into control panel, add/remove software and look for runtime C+++ and remove it. Then find the Naza Assistant software and remove these. Turn PC off, not a restart.

Restart the PC and make sure you have DJi assistant 1.0 & 2.20 install files, along with the DJi driver file.

Installing the assistant software installs the correct version of runtime c+++

Then try again. If you get the page open with process started on the bottom, you need too power cycle the Naza while connected. I did this and a third page opened asking me to remove the props and upgrade.

Today took a standard Lite. And as normal, first flight was alittle shaky.
Updated FW on same Lite. This time like V1-2 upgrades, flashing yellow light for approx 45sec-a minute, the green. Power up and there she was rock solid and stable.

Shame I have no more Lites. But have ordered a bucket full of iOSD and PMU2

If you have a Naza, give it a go. In case DJi block the process of have restrictions on the files, they are safely backed up on a server

Can';t believe that I';ve only just seen this thread - the hacker and tinkerer in me has got all excited!

Will be trying this when I can get some time at the table.......... I seriously need a man cave!

This one may be best as a sticky or added to the upgrading naza v1 to V2 thread.

Also tried a fresh install windows 7 32bit

Sounds like bad download, or your C++ redistributable files are bad, what AV are you using, try turning it off whilst you are doing the update.

That sounds a lot like my old Naza M (original version).  On many occasions it would take several minutes to get to green flashing from yellow.
My Naza v2';s don';t have this ';issue'; if you can call it that.  I believe it was caused by a firmware upgrade a couple of years ago and was seemingly addressed when they brought out the v2 which has a saw filter on the gps.  Not sure if the lite has this?

Edit: Come to think of it, DJI may have introduced this ';delay'; period deliberately in response to the ';flyaway'; issue, mainly caused by folk who simply didn';t bother waiting for an accurate GPS position fix, as I seem to recall my V1 developing this delay after the release of the V2 (along with the more stable takeoff algorithm).  They may have deemed the V2 fast enough to remove the delay, as they had by this time improved the GPS sensitivity on the V2.

NB:  The cynic in me at the time did speculate that the ';Lite'; was simply an old rebadged V1, which had become superseded by the V2!

It';s nothing to worry about, it';s temperature specific, as I leave it on the ground for up to 5 mins before flying, that gives it more than enough time to initialise the IMU and get a sat lock, then it';s business as usual.
There is one thing I';ve found out, it';s not copter related, my floor is on the ******, so I';ll have to make a levelling jig and do another advanced calibration with the copter dead level, it';s only by setting these things up did I notice something wrong with the floor

I was warming up to buy a V2 in 2015 ... but now this has me thinking to get a current Lite and simply update it!

Danny, you could do that of course, but tbh, if you';re buying from new, get the v2, as the lite would still need all the canbus stuff to make it as functional, seems a false economy to me?

Plus, you would void any warranty of course!

I agree if you are buying new, best to buy the v2 from the start, as you will get the v2 PMU and LED with it.
This hack is more useful to those that have naza lite FCs already.

Thanks gentlemen, always good to get the other (full) perspective.  All things considered, I';ll hold out for a V2 then ;)

But as you say, this is a jolly good hack for those Lite owners who';d like an update to some more stable/reliable/safe flight software.

I';m still undecided to do it. My lite with gps works perfectly. But I could do with a zenmuse gimbal which is possibly with adding a pmu which the lite doesn';t support. But then I don';t wanna upgrade and lose reliability so may just get dys gimbal instead which is cheaper than the zenmuse plus don';t have to buy a pmu which I guess is another £50 if I had a second lite fc I would definitely give it go though!

Airwave45

Having done it to mine, all it makes me, is to make sure I get a V2 for the next FC, the Lite is excellent, this is just a little better. Better is good.

flybywire

The zenmuse gimbals do take some beating, i';ve had several alexmos clone type setups, and although they are great for the money, the superb performance and stupidly simple setup of the zenmuse just can';t be beaten in my opinion.
I have the 2D, which is fine for what i want, and i';ve seen them around for c. £200, banggood for instance.

I have just bought the naza lite as couldn';t afford the v2. If I was to do this would I be able to buy the v2 pmu so I can use iosd etc?

I believe so. I also have a question too. Can you/do you use naza v2 assistant once upgraded for setup/tuning? I know it can';t be used for firmware upgrades....

I';ve just done mine. Lite to V2.  And yes you then need the V2 software assistant.

It';s really straightforward, I';ve only had mine since xmas day and I worked it out. ~~

Do I need a power source or is it powered through usb? I don';t have any batteries yet as still in the process of getting everything together for my build.

You will need a flight pack to power it as well as USB
