Stabilized in Aero?

so im trying to do the tuning on my quad in mission planner and when i set it to aero it still wants to go back to level.. if i flick the sticks around it will always end up leveled. isn';t aero supposed to be free mode without any aids? and also when give it some yaw it tends to pitch a little bit..

Hi Pablo and welcome to the forum is this using the new megapirate firmware v2.8r2 I ask because I had a little test flight this morning and also noticed that acro mode seemed to be stabelised to
not sure this can be tunned out but will report back here if I hear or find out how to fix it

Yeah its on 2.8, so im not the only one with the problem. i think i will drop back to 2.7.

do you know how i can fix my yaw issue as well?

I think a lot of yaw problems are caused by esc';s beeing out of balance so they may need re calibrating, do all you motors start at exactly the same time ?

well when i had MultiWii installed it worked fine, i think its the frame having an odd shape. the ESCs are DJI so i don';t think they';re programmable. but then when i installed MegaPirate it started doing this again.. so im guessing its one of the settings..

ya same here on 2.8 r2 no acro i just pass on it because i can';t tune it right.....
i will give a try in 2.8 r3 soon

I';m after some advice please.
After been a "dyed in the wool", multiwii exponent (since it came out),
I have decided to go over to the dark side and join the MegaPirates.
The main reason for this is  to use ultrasonics and the advanced GPS feature to play around with on my Octo.
My main interest though, is aerobatics and I want to establish that using pirate code (with  tuning ) will allow me to have the same flying experience as I currently can with multiwii.
Also what is the best current  stable release.

2.7 r4 gps hold nice tunable and fly well but between wii and mpng wii seem more flyer frendly prepare to tune  you rig and after you got a good machine more crisp responce and all de goodie';s :)

Just loaded r3.. still no Acro..

im trying to load 2.7 r4 and its giving me this,

Did you delete all the libraries from 2.8 and replace them with the 2.7 libraries

I have found it some times pays to delete arduino and start with a fresh copy, when you still get problems and you know every thing is right

Always tune acro first most people ignore it but it affects stable mode

ok i found it!!!
they have add a setting... that you can set in planner.... level in acro.... set a 200 disable this and boom like before :)

acrobalance pitch and acro balance roll set it to 0 and all old acro :)
