Hey all, im a complete noob when it comes to the cc3d fc and am attempting my 1st build so please ';handle with care'; lol
Ive been given the cc3d from a good friend to use on a 250 build and i have the board and breakout cable but I cant find anywhere thatll show me what cable to connect to what on a Spektrum Ar6115e Rx?

Where do i plug the single Brown, Orange, Green, Yellow and Blue? I know the Black, Red n White are the power but I have no idea on which is which an where to plug it..... :huh
cheers in advance peeps

The answer to your question is in the OpenFlight GUI app. If you start the Setup Wizard in the GUI it will take you step by step through the physical connections all the way up to ACC calibration.

Before you do any connecting just make sure the cable colour matches the display on the GUI.  You';ll then not go wrong.  If, however, the cables are differently coloured to what they should be officially then maybe this will help

http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php?topic=9520

Specifically, if the cable colours are not compliant with official CC3D, mine were definitely not, then this is the pin-out of the plug and cable, just copy across to whatever cable colours yours are - it is the pin-out that is significant

Dave, have a read of this:

http://wiki.openpilot.org/plugins/servlet/mobile#content/view/12386767

It tells you all you need to know about connecting the coloured rx cable to the cc3d.
When it comes to the esc';s, only one needs all three wires, the rest just have the signal cable attached.
As Danny right.y says, focus more upon the actual sequence of the wires, unless your cable is an exact colour match to the official cc3d one, i understand some cables have the wires jumbled up.
Hope it helps!

Hi Dave, I did wonder if it was you ;)

That colour coding looks correct - that is, its the pukka colour code that OpenPilot use for their CC3D board.

So, the Black/Red/White goes to RX channel 1 - exactly as if a regular servo wire.  The remaining colours got to the signal pin of the RX, one per channel (2 = blue, 3 = yellow, 4 = green, 5 = orange, 6 = brown(purple) in the order of the wires as they leave the plug.

Here';s a link on the page @flybywire gave: http://wiki.openpilot.org/plugins/servlet/mobile#CopterControlHardwareManual-ReceiverPort

Does that help?

Thanks Danny and FlyByWire, ive connected the wires to the rx...... just gotta wait for the esc';s to arrive so i can power up an setup Tx... Ive just read that to setup the Tx the cc3d needs power from the esc an not via the usb....nOOb aLeRt!!! lmao

Hey Dave, that wiring looks a bit wrong to me :o    You seem to have the wiring completely reversed ::)

Think of Thro as Pin 1, Aile as Pin 2 and so on ... So the cable should be attached to the RX as follows ...

1. Thro --> Black-Red-White (tri-wire)
2. Aile --> Blue
3. Elev --> Yellow
4. Rudd --> Green
5. Gear --> Orange
6. Aux1 --> Purple (or what looks like Brown in your pics)

In the GUI you may need to tell the software the order of your channels, often abbreviated to TAER.  I cannot recall now, it was a little while back ... But as long as you slowly and diligently follow the Set Up wizard the chances are it will all work okay on first power up ::)

Looks like the signal wires are wrong to me as well - signal on Spektrum is normally on top!

I';ve got one of those at home and will eyeball it when I get in tonight  ~~    It is very clearly marked on the Spektrum RXs

Thanks Danny, thats just what I was trying to figure out....what ch1,2 etc etc was in relation to Thro,Aile,Elev etc  ~~
will swap them about now an when the esc';s turn up i';ll give it a spin in the GUI..... would I be right  in assuming that with cc3d only 1 esc has the power an the other 3 need the red wire isolating ?

Yup. Easiest is to eject the Red wire from the plug, fold it back, and either shrink wrap it or use insulating tape to keep it safely out of the way.  Should the BEC of the ESC powering the board flake out for any reason you can then easily put one of the others into service ~~
