Power monitor

I am wanting to fit  a power monitor to my ground station and was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what to use?  I would like to monitor the Mah if possible or can it only be done by cell Volts?   :huh

Voltmeter would be cheapest way.. but if you want to measure % batt then you need something a bit more sophisticated...
