Reversed Roll with megapirateng >= 3.0 and aoip v2

Hi there,

Bought my first quadcopter about a month ago and been trying to set it up, a few crashes, but it';s all part of the learning process =)

Now the problem, with megapirate 2.8 I can fly, but unstable. I';m unable to calibrate the accel, either with Mission Planner or APM Planner 2, both GUI or Console. In the console I just get a blank prompt, no interactive guide with "press enter to continue".
With megapirate 3 and 3.1 everything works except the roll is reversed, when I flip the quad to the left, mission planner of apm planner shows it flipping to the right. I';ve tried a lot of options, but simply cannot get the hang of it.

Now for the questions:
1- Can I fly CRIUS AIOP V2 with megapirate 2.8 and forget about accel calibration? If not, how can I do the calibration?
2- With 3 or 3.1, how do I fix the roll orientation?

It';s normal to have to reverse a channel (or multiple channels) on your transmitter.

Even with an regular model (plane) you often have to do this.

Thanks for the reply. I';m not talking about the receiver, but the built-in accelerometer. Sorry for not knowing how to explain better, but without touching the radio, if I put the quadcopter on it';s sides mission planner will display in the compass the horizon line, and it should roll to the left when you roll the quad to the left as well. It does that with megapirate 2.8, but not with 3.0, if I roll the quad to the left mission planner will show it rolling to the right.

I';m assuming that when you fly the machine that it moves properly on each axis.

What version of Mission Planner are you using as I think I remember mention of issues between decapitate and more recent missionnplanner versions, but as I don';t own a Crius please don';t set too much store by what I have just said.

Maybe the megapirate experienced members can speak up

That';s correct.
Think of it as your sat in a real plane. You bank left and the horizon tilts right.

Ok, here';s some more details:

Running MegapirateNG 3.0.1-R4 or 3.1.5-R2 using flashtool I got this:

When I put the quad in this position (taking a picture from the rear of the quad):


I get this in mission planner (1.3.5)



With 2.8-R3 flashed with Arduino IDE the roll is correct, but when I try to calibrate the acellerometer nothing happens, tried with CLI as well, just goes to the command prompt and does nothing.

That roll looks as it should ... mission planner is showing you the horizon as if you were looking out the "cockpit" of the quad

You are absolutely correct, for some reason I thought it was the other way around and was focusing on the solution rather than the problem, or lack of it.
