Old school new quad

So, i kinda gave up flying mutirotors this was pretty much a result of the "Gatwick drone that never was" i was just finishing the big heavy lift S600 Naza quad and then Gatwick happened, i figured if i took it out and flew it, the public would be shouting "killer drone", i also felt this was the end of UK drone flying so the S600 got sold of for parts (but not the NazaM V1)   So i ended up sticking to fixed wing, but times are hard, the flying club is a 98 mile round trip and i look out of my back garden and decide its drone time again.
So here we are, i wanted a GPS drone, i have a rummage got 2 motors and 2 esc`s, quick look on ebay and find a second pair of matching esc`s at a good price (snapped up) on to bangood and a pair of matching 1600 2207 motors plus a 7" carbon frame kit and order a Matek PDB so just waiting for motors and frame to arrive
my spec list is:
7" generic carbon X frame
2207 1600kv motors
Hobbyking blue 30amp esc`s
7x5 triblade props
3000mah 4s lipo
and of course Naza M v1
for fpv and HD im still on old school going to commit the mortal crime and use Runcam2 HD with VTX

This is a 7" cruiser drone so the runcam should work for me viewed with hawkeye little pilot 5" screen, you may remember i never ever got on with goggles

Must admit it's about 2 years since I flew. I keep meaning to get the kit out again but just never get round to it.

Just so you know the stupid 'drone rules' have changed again! You now need to register to fly anything with a camera even sub 250 gms!

Good luck and let us know how you get on and picys  :D
I try :-)

Im fully insured and registered had to be for the planes and wings, numbers on models and CAA registered

The frame kit arrived today, fast, nice but its to small, not enough real estate for Naza M GPS RX and Naza PMU plus VTX, not sure what i will do, may have to start over, get an S500 frame, and lower kv motors

If you show pics of approx layout we might be able to offer a solution, like for example increasing the post height, which I had to do on my EMax Hawk5 to get a Vista into the stack position as its a very tight true "X" with no space for one behind the other mounting.  (And with everything dead central to the X it flies superbly, best I have)

apollo7

@Bad Raven good call on extending the post height, that may be a solution but i am now thinking i may get a plywood frame Laser cut to my own design, this would give me more "real estate" and may well do the job decent, also wood is good at absorbing jello, i know a few people in the laser cutting trade so should be able to get something done and stay with the 1600kv motors and 7" props

I have a DJI F450 flamewheel complete that has a 3 axis gimbal and a Naza FC gps fpv etc that has just been sat in a box for a good while. Might that be or interest to you?
I try :-)

PropsToYou

Oh man, the F450 takes me waaay back!
I loved that thing!
Within a month of building it, I ended up upgrading it to an F550 haha.
So much fun! If you fly it without landing gear, it's basically a flying saucer!

I now have all the bits i need for this wooden frame build, just lacking time and a little enthusiasm, it will happen at some point but now thinking i could do with a DJI spark or mini mavic

Stable in hover, isn't it!

Interesting video, small recommendation, slow the rotation when panning.
