At last finished the Diatone, tightest build yet.(p.i.t.a.)  It's only had a indoor test hover  but i get the feeling it's going to be a sod to tune..

Admittedly, I didnt build it but I have done a bit of work on it and it really is a squeeze.
Tuning wasn't really that much of a problem (stock setup was awful). My main problem was getting the right size battery for flight time/weight.

The wrong ones!
I went for 600 (got bloody 6 of them ) but it finds those a bit heavy.
I have tried a few different sizes of friends batteries and my findings are 450 is about the 'sweet spot'

Always good to see peoples builds as everyone does things different.

I assume you have thought of different props with the bigger batts? You might be able to use props that pull a higher current that the 600mAh can supply and give you a bit more thrust overcoming the weight?

I have 2040 tri-blades on it as it is, I wouldnt really want to go any more aggresive than that for fear of releasing the ESC genies.
