Hi folks, can anyone recommend me a decent charger. I';m using 4s 5000 batteries and current charger takes about 70 mins to balance charge these at 5A.(no difference really fast charging) They are 2c packs so could take 10A halving the charging times if the charger could do a 10A charge, think I have that right correct me if I';m wrong please. Or alternatively a charger that can charge multiple packs Not sure which way to go but lots if experience on here so no harm in asking. Oh and of course what power supply will I need etc etc.

I have one of the IMAX6 clones, its a Turnigy.
This can only charge up to 5A.
Same boat as you, I can charge my large batteries at 10A but charger can';t do it.
If I was to buy a lead a could charge two (3s) batteries but the charge would drop to 2.5A to cover charging the two at what would be 5A.
I would have to buy a  new charger like a http://www.amazon.co.uk/JMT-Battery-Balance-Helicopter-Airplane/dp/B00EFP39W2/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1394744271&sr=8-19&keywords=10A+Charger+LiPO#productDetails but its quite pricey at £100

Good luck
Dyl

Edit: Or two of these for charging two at a time (only 5A) and only £40 each.

:hmm:

I got fed up charging one at a time,so have just bought one of these:

http://www.giantshark.co.uk/product/171030/gt-power-x-drive-4-in-1-quattro-charger-li-po-ni-mh-battery

I use a converted PC PSU to power it.You will need additional charge/balance leads as well.

Will that charge 4 batteries at the same time at 5A each?

I';ve been using an I charger 206b, and I cant fault it. It can output up to 20a(with a powerful enough power supply).

Have a read through this (or google Lipo parallel charging)

http://www.icharger.co.nz/articles/ArticleId/7/What-is-Parallel-Charging-and-why-is-it-for-me.aspx

For charging multiple packs at once, you can connect all your batteries in parallel, you then basically end up with 1 large capacity battery. Have a look on ebay for parallel charging board, only cost a few quid.

say you have 3 x 5000mah packs, when connecting them in parallel you now have 1 15,000mah pack, to charge it at 1c your charger would need to be set at 15amps.

Should do if your power supply can handle it.ithink my PSU is rated at 16 amps, so I';ll be maxed out at 4A per cell.

Have a look at the cellpro range, not cheap but sure there is something that will do more than the job. I have a 10S which I have used regularly for the last 4 or 5 years and have nothing but praise for it.
