What Battery Meter To Use?

I have been wondering about the accuracy of my current LiPo battery meter and decided to check it out against other means.  See the photo below, my regular tester is on the right.  So I have compared its measurements against a common LiPo tester/alarm and a reliable multimeter, and these were the results using a 3S LiPo.

CellMultimeterAlarmTester
14.124.134.20
24.154.164.15
34.174.184.14
Tot12.4112.512.46

The actual charger, an iMax B6 (clone or original I don';t know), reports 4.20 at each cell (12.60 volts total).  I have two B6, bought from separate suppliers, that both report exactly the same.

The Tester consistently reports the battery voltages descending across the cells. That is, cell 1 is always the highest, followed by cell 2 and then cell 3, 4 and so on. That suggests a fundamental flaw in the tester itself.

But is any of this significant enough to worry about? It looks disturbing to see such a "wide" variance or is it insignificant to all intents and purposes.

What say you?

Point and click.

The deviation you are getting is a bit academic, if your multimeter is recording lower values and if you';re sure your multimeter is correct then there';s no problem anyway because it means your charger is on the safe side. As Nub says chill out and stop looking for things that might be wrong and get flying!

This is true.  See? Thats what happens when I get bored waiting for stuff like LiPo to charge up.  And I really can';t be arsed to mess about with the Hubsan on the one day of the week in which I actually have the time to go out.  You know what they say about idle hands ...

Now I';m bored again because the rain has beat me.  I';m waiting to see if there is a lull  :crossfingers: in which case I';ll nip out for a few damp flights.

Ha ha Some would say so

So that was a complete and utter waste of time. It appears that more than 100 meters from this house is an apocalypse worthy of the four horsemen themselves.  I';m pretty sure that an Ark passed me along the dual carriageway at one point.

I thought that I';d rehearse the route to somewhere that I desperately want to FPV as I think it is rather unique, at least in Kent.  That didn';t work out so well either.  The roads where I was heading off to suddenly disappeared into what looked to be industrial or private property.  More research required  :hmm:

There';s a tiny bit of home repair to be getting on with so I guess its put the toys away and do some of that.

Now where did I put that multimeter ......
