Useful order codes for making paralel charge boards

Hi Everyone,

Ive been making a paralel charger for the hexacopter and I thought I would post up some links and order codes as finding the right bits can be hard sometimes if your not very into electronics.

The sockets for your batteries to plug into (all of these codes are for 4s, 5pin. If you cant find the right pincount for your battery size ask me and I can find for you.)

Bear in mind these housings do not come with pins as the pins are crimped onto the wire and then slid into the housing. The pins are:

These require a specialist crimp tool to put on the wires but its possible to carefully bend the pins around the wire and then soak with solder to finish off. Just make sure you dont end up with a big blob of solder sticking out or it wont slide into the housing.


These are called JST connectors 2.5mm pitch (.1inch).


You can use this material, called Veroboard, strip board, prototype board etc. These consist of rows of holes joined with strips of copper. You would take your sockets and solder them in a row and then solder wires onto the strips. Its easy to cut, best with a band saw or similar fine toothed saw.

Smaller sheets of this are available cheaper from maplin, but steer clear of SRPB (stupid resin paper board) its horrible cheap material, use fibreglass. Also you need to make sure the pitch is 2.54mm or the sockets will not fit.

Ahh ****** just realised that veroboard I linked to is stupid resin paper board!! DONT BUY ITS ******.

I have never seen a Veroboard that isn't srbp 
You can buy ready made parallel charging leads for lipos from places like Hobbyking but be extremely careful which way they are plugged in or it's curtains for your charger and lipos.
