...or should I call it Hook and Loop tape?

Not sure where I should put this question, hopefully here';s as good as any place.

Simply put, where to you buy Velcro tape that stays stuck to the battery longer than half a dozen flights.  I have tried it from my wife';s sewing box, from a local haberdashers and from an on-line RC shop (that';s an expensive way of buying it!) and in every case the stuff I';m using parts company with its adhesive backing after just a few flights.  The sticky stuff stays stuck to the battery and the loop half stays stuck to the quad it';s just the hook part won';t stay attached to its own backing.  Grateful to know what you are using or is there another way of attaching batteries (3 cell) to a frame plate in addition to a Velcro strap?

Thank you.

tony

i use this stuff from my local hobby store its very good

a couple of these will rip free but id say 1 in 4 but at 44p buy ten at a time and where they rip free you can all ways repair them with the wife sowing kit :na

Thanks guys, I';ll give those straps a go when they are back in stock and Tesco';s here I come (don';t tell my wife).

I use a combination of Velcro and a battery strap.  The Velcro stops the battery from sliding out of the strap, which it will with the least provocation.  But the Velcro sticky backing isn';t strong enough as you';ve already found.  So the strap does the physical holding to the multi-rotor.  Thus far, in several spectacular crashes as I occasionally do, while other stuff is breaking off the battery stays fixed in place solidly.

I get my hook & loop tape from Screwfix, £6 for 5 meters. and it seems to last, (it';s a bugger to get off when you change your configuration!)

~~ to you all.  Thanks for all the suggestions guys, plenty to be trying there.  I use the same method as HandOn and Pete-C but my tape must be P1$$ P00R as it doesn';t last more than a few removals.

Once again ta very much for your ideas.

I use "Velcro" circular pads - bought hooks and loops as a pair of tapes from Wilkinsons. IIRC it cost me less than £2 and I';m still less than halfway through the tape.  The glue isn';t extraordinary, but it seems to hold most things in place.

There is some industrial grade stuff that a friend of mine uses to secure a metal bullet camera to his motorcycle helmet. It is extraordinarily grippy, would probably tear the LiPo covering off the battery.
