Next upgrade for my wizard

I've got a wizard x220 rtf, broke the receiver before I could fly haha! But got a new stock one and an upgraded receiver and the required cable...

I get paid on the 28th and was thinking of getting a better camera..

Can anyone recommend a good camera that will work with the wizard (I'd prefer wide lense but open to ideas) or if anyone can think of something better I should upgrade? Is the stock video receiver good? Or should I upgrade that first?

As you can tell from my terminology I'm a newbie to the hobby

All help goes greatly appreciated!

Foxeer predetor is best on market imho at the moment, but to mount on wizard will depend on the mounts, is the existing cased or a board cam?

I would say a Foxeer or  RunCam. The actual model will depend on the fitting in the Wizard. Usually if you measure the gap where the existing cam fits you should be able to find one to fit.

One thing to note is that the wiring will probably not be compatible! If you get a new cam don't assume 0v is black, 5v is red and yellow or white is signal as the original may not have the correct colour code for the wires!!!

The smaller the mm of the lens the wider angle it will give. 2.1 or 2.3mm is fairly normal. Going much wider the images get quite goldfish bowl looking.

To be honest while the Wizard cam isn't great it might be worth giving it a try first just so you know what it's like and then know if you want a wider lens or not?

Have you got your goggles yet?
I try :-)

I`m running a runcam swift 2 in mine and in all honesty i`m quite happy with it. It has audio too which was a bonus for me.

I upgraded mine with a Run cam swift 2.
With mine I just did a straight swap 'initially' but used a battery voltage tester and connected it during flight ( pain in the arse)
I then used the connector that came with the runcam, cut the audio put 3 wires where the old 3 wires were & 1 I stuck on a vbat somewhere. (Allows you to see your current voltage in your goggles picture) It's 100% worth doing.

I'd also get some new props, like the dal cyclones t5040 or the 45's the wizard ones aren't great imo.

Also get 2 spare ESC's & 2 spare motors £20quid ish.

took me 3 flights before one of my escs blew, so glad I brought spares, got into the air again the following day.

Cool thanks for your input guys Run cam it is then and I'll get spare motors and esc's need a soldering kit too, don't want to solder but I will have I eventually
