Actually, there was an article in last month';s bmfa mag outlining a real world case of a guy who got a bit too close to a burning lipo, judging by the accompanying pic, it was indeed a very nasty burn.

Best thing to have next to your lipo';s when charging is a bag of sand, puts them out instantly!

Think I';ll have ago at splitting one pack that has two cells puffing badly and put the good cell to my other pack. 4S here come.

Anyone know where to buy the solder / flux in the UK to resolver the tabs together.  I believe this needs to be aluminium flux / paste but I can only find stockist in the US

I just used normal solder that was in the lab

I spent ages trying to solder to the tabs last time I attempted this.

In the end I realised they were all covered in a thin layer of varnish which needed sanding off before the solder would take.

If you have problems try sanding the tabs down with some sand paper before soldering to them. And use lots of flux.

Just tried that and no luck,  Trying to find a stocking of Carrs  Grey Flux
