There has been a warning released about the new Rabbit firmware and some of the early released boards below is a copy of the warning and the attached picture

Alert....

Please refer to the attchment...

According to Rabbit, there exist a batch (actually their first production batch dated back to Oct 2011) of about 50 units that has a 1K (102) resistor for CH8. This resistor MUST BE REMOVED in order to work properly in FW 1.212, otherwise, the resistor will incorrectly provide an input of > 1700 to CH8 and so will make the fc get into Fail Safe mode once the m-rotor raised to above 5m..

It is very very unlikely that this batch was despatched to the overseas.. but for safety's sake, please check it before upgrade to fw 1.212..

Removing the reistor is easy.. just use a nail snipper or anything like that to cut into the middle of the resistor to break it.. as long as it fall into two (or more) pieces, then it will be ok...

I uploaded the latest version of the Rabbit firmware V1.218 there is only one executable file now and you just have to click the English button,
The gui has changed quite a bit as you will see, the buzzer on the rabbit now keeps sounding until it senses a radio link,
there are new sections for setting up the gps for the return home speed and wind resistance  ~~
Still no new English manual though

Heres a few screen captures of the new GUI

I have just uploaded the new V1.219 there has been some bugs fixed and they have added a slider to allow a longer auto disarm time as the previous one was just a few seconds, the problem is the gps read out still has the same bug reported in another post so this version will probably be replaced quite soon

What we really need is an up to date english manual  :whistling:

They have just replaced V1.219 with V1.220 I have uploaded it minus the chinese manuals, I have test flown this new version and it flew very well, Height hold soanr and baro worked very well, carefree worked perfectly in both directions, and position hold worked quite well but might be better when altering some of the new settings  ~~

Hello Gazza

Thanks for the new upload, I loaded it into my controller and ran te software only to find out that they still show the GPS longitude in eror. They did fix the voltage setup which used to crash the previous version.  :huh

Gaza07

Hi Northern Fox yea i have just posted a video of the test flight I made with this firmware it flies fine but I also get the error in the gui, I have posted a picture in the other thread, hopefully they will fix this quickly  ~~

What ';s the new in FW(V1.230)

1) The time for compass calibrating is 60 second

2)  evenif you have not done horizontal calibration,You can unlock the Rabbit.

3)  Add the new function:Gimmbal control mod : knob mod  &  stick mod

4) more safe when calibrating

Cant help but think that the Rabbit is now overpriced compare to other  FC';s and lacks decent support and updates...  this doesent look like what people were expecting..

Shame as hardware is good... but its being left behind..

You are welcome.
What';s new in the firmware is:
1. Change compass calibraton procedure.
2. Enhance fine tuning horizontal calibration of the multicopter in the air.
3. Mixing control is available to enhance the function of PTZ Self-Balance.
4. Add invert flight mode for Y3.

Hi,

This may not be news, but I didn';t see any warning/notes about it here... and thought in the interests of full disclosure and allowing people the choice not to support certain vendors who don';t respect other people';s work "Rabbit" firmware is actually stolen GPL';d MultiWii code.

Definitely old news but it doesn';t do any harm to let people know who may have missed it the first time around.

What difference with 2.31  and 2.30 please ,is better with 2.31 ???thank you

';

Gaza07

Probably just bug fixes nothing major that I can recall although it has been a long time since I used a rabbit flight controller, if your 2.30 is flying ok then it maybe best to just stick with that  ~~

Not sure on the differences as Gary has mentioned but I have this installed on my Rabbit v1 and v1.1 and both are flying very well indeed, just flash the 2.31, then redid all calibrations and then flown without any issues.

This video was flown with Fw2.31 installed on a v1.1 Rabbit...
