Fletch I can see how you have mounted the RX how do you plan on attaching the Lipo before flight so as to reduce the Drag in the Airstream of the Props.

Got mine ready bar the RX as still waiting for a brace of XM's from Banggood if they get here tomorrow then great if not I have a XSR here that I can Press into service?

I remember why I hate messing with Betaflight and cleanflight now

Updated ESCs and got props and directions all checked

The FC was running the latest BF already.  First flight it just wouldn't sit at peace in the sky ... Stick felt like there was a huge deadband in the centre and then it snatched in the direction I asked for

Reflashed and it flew better but the rates were to high for me and an indoor quad.

Second flight and it felt like the battery was dead within 1 minute and it dropped slowly to the ground ... Quick check and battery voltage was fine.

New battery and now one of the motors stutters and the ESC reboots constantly.

I may swap to kiss ESCs yet!
And pray for a 20mm kiss FC

Urgh!

Doug, my RX is direct soldered with just enough wire to allow it to fold over the top of the FC ... A bit of heat shrink and nip down the top plate

The Dys motors come with that horrible enamal coated single strand wire right to the end!!

The battery is light enough to just have it on with Velcro ... And it's impossible to keep it out the air flow!

So ... After my rant earlier about *flight an update!

Found my problem at it is the crappy coated single strand wire that DYS uses - i wasn't getting a good connection on the ESC that was stuttering.

Re did my betaflight flash and set everything up again.

Throttle Cals done - no issues!
All motors tested - Perfect
Changed min command to 995.. And smoke from a motor!!
Motors spun a little on start then some of the magic smoke escaped!  Not all as its still working!

Pulled that battery ... Checked screws, no conflict
Changed min command back to 1000 ... and it appears to be ok now

Just ordered mine this morning ::) Gone for the Racestar 1103 10000kv/7A ESC combo (22g), Pico FC, Bolt 500mAh 2s (x5), XSR RX, 72ch FPV cam/vtx and of course 1935x4 props.

EDIT: Just had a tot-up and the flying weight should be ~100g inc the battery.

i have used the rotorX 1105b 6500kv and the the racerstar 6a bls esc's
and the piko blx fc and will be using the 2s turnigy bolt 500mah
total flight weight should be just over 100g

Right put the same motors in mine with the Piko but i've used the armattan 20a ESC's and got some of the Bolt3S 500's but think I will order up some 2s ones instead and may go for the Graphenes rather than the Bolts as my charger don't do LiHV lipo's so won't get the full benefit of them?

I was thinking of going for the graphene as I use them on my Armattan F1 5 and am impressed with the performance of the
went for the bolts mainly due to the weight of only just over 30g
I just wanted to keep the weight as low as poss try get more than the usual 2 mins flight time

I'm sure that the function of this is great, but I just can't get over the fact that it looks a little like a flying block.

Many chargers will do 4.3v Doug, just not 4.35v, which should be enough. There aren't many lipos to choose from for these Bumpers. The Bolt's are ideal and I'd be inclined to use a slightly less charged Bolt over a far heavier option like the Graphene's.

EDIT: My frame just landed! ::)

Quick question...

I am considering building one or two of these and was going through the list of recommended parts.

The Armattan site suggests 2 inch propellers, while elsewhere I read that 1.9" (FuriousFPV 1935) are the recommended ones.

Could anyone who built one or more of these bad boys confirm what propeller size they can take?

Many thanks in advance,

Thanks Revs!

Have you by any chance tried both 1935 and 2035?

Could you compare performances vs. flying times? (I assume the 2035 are a bit more power hungry than their smaller alternative?).

Cheers,

No worries bud. I'm still waiting on a couple of bits to get mine finished so I've not flown it yet. Much will depend on your motor choice as to what prop is best. Usually it's a trial and error job finding the best prop/motor combo. A current meter is a handy thing to have to make sure that you're getting the most from your motors without overloading them.

Mine's in one piece but I've got a duff Piko FC. I'm getting an intermittent RX signal, but I'm receiving telemetry fine. Tried the XM rx first, then an XSR, both the same so it's deffo the FC :/ Ordered another last night, should be here tomorrow, then I get to resolder everything. Yay  :-/

These things are crazy noisy though. I'm sure there's crap loads of lost thrust in the ducts.

Managed to flash my XM's with LBT FW so am a happy bunny.

Did you know that RSSI from the XM is output on ch 16 so you don't need the extra wire.

My TX03 is Faulty tho so have to get another AIO from somewhere
