  • ched999uk: RaceDayQuads have some cheap but good batts out now. Josh B tested and stats say very good especially at price. HobbyRC have 1300mAh 4S just under £20. Not had luck with Turnigy lipos either!!

  • Reman: Just realised that I hadn't gone through my stored Li-Po's for about a month. I try to visually check them every Saturday, And prod the plugs with a multimeter about once a month. Todays seen 12 more bulging packs go out to the incinerator..... All but one was a bloody Turnigy! Part of me wan't to burn the rest now and just get a load more Tattu packs, But I've spent good money on these packs and wan't to at least get a little more use out of them. :(

  • Bad Raven: Pre MR's I used to buy a lot from J.Perkins. Their website showed all items and stock or due date, go to dealer and buy with confidence. Then they went all "lifestyle" and all the site had were pictures or people. I wasn't after people. I never bought again. Yes, you'd think they'd learn...........

  • ched999uk: Reman sounds like amazon search. I find it ok unitil you want to search by price then amazon falls apart.... You would think both companies would get it right...
    July 15, 2018, 16:54:55
  • Reman: It's strange. The original setup they had about 5 or 6 years back wasn't too bad (Except for them occasionally getting accounts hacked), But they changed it to the last one that was clunky and slow, Now they've replaced that with a flashier one that's also clunky and slow ?!?!?! Most companies learn from what they do wrong. I don't buy from HK half as much as I used to, Mainly because it takes forever to trawl through 100 pages of totally unrelated stuff while looking for something you were thinking about getting when you saw it there the previous week !!!
    July 15, 2018, 16:27:21
  • hoverfly: I don't think there is a search button on H/King. They updated the site and forgot to  relabel the search button with  Random bo##ocks..

  • Bad Raven: Agree - The Search is abysmal!!
    July 15, 2018, 08:40:52
  • Reman: I see HobbyKing's revamped their site again...... Shame they haven't made the search function work any better, Or worked out why the whole site goes slower than a pensioner in a Nissan Micra. :)

  • Reman: How thick is Google? You buy something online, Then for the next week you get targeted adds for the item you've just got?!?! That's the one item you're NOT going to be buying again at that point so it's wasted effort of there part. :)

An unusually large assortment today, most not MR related, but some Dark Edition 8.5';s for another Whoopee Quad as previous post of mine.

Also, have rec';d, bought batteries and installed the Banggood sourced coloured LED light strings for my improvised indoor course Hoops and Loops. So far have done three Hoops, which just placed close for a photo look like:-

As usual the flouro and lit up colour washes out a bit in photos, they are really decently bright and deep coloured, with White LED in the yellow, Green LED in the green, and Mauve LED in the Pink hoops.

Let the CHAOS begin......................   :evil

And an order is about to be placed for the rest now I know they work OK.  Both complete loops and two hanging door frame inverted half hoops.

The full course will go from my dining room (lit) through the hall and lounge (unlit apart from the hoops) and round the lit conservatory to return.

I did the indoor lit gates thing just after I received the e010, just used some smd strips  stuck to some ptfe filament tubing I had spare.

set em up in the hall, was pretty chuffed with the result then the missus walked in with arms full of shopping bags, looked down at the gates.... looked up at me.... looked down again.... glared back at me............ I never did it again. :(

Shame..........  My wife had to move a door hanger half loop this morning to get at the printer paper in the unit behind where it was leaning, looked more closely at it, and puzzled, said "no lights in this one yet then?"   ~~

I';d only ordered three sets as I didn';t know if they';d be bright enough, they are and I have!

OK to today. Post Lady came and went and came back a minute later...to deliver a holiday brochure, then half an hour later a Tranny (VAN!!) screamed to a halt outside, out she jumped while the driver turned it round, and delivered............

Two LiPo';s for the Aurora 90. These were on pre-order from mid Feb and were then finally shipped on 6th March, so I was just beginning to think they should have arrived........

Gaoneng 2S 450 mAh claimed to be 80-160C !!

If the Packaging and Instruction/Warning material/multi colour printing standard is anything to go by, they should be OK, especially as their boxes would probably survive a very large impact, being unmarked after travelling China/Seychelles/Sweden/UK!

No time now to put them on a charger but had to laugh at the box end line artwork of a quad and the words:-

NO. 1 IN THE SAFETY EVER

Glad that';s sorted then!

Yes, thanks, I know, I had hysterics a while back when "a well known name" was selling 60-120C 1500mAh 4S with red JST!

I think that the C claim for these is greatly exaggerated, and the motors  on the Aurora are only 1104s, might just sneak it!

Noise they make they are extremely loud

Yeah got a bit of a shock when it started up. But then it settled down and wasn';t too bad, not much loader than the PC it is replacing.

It';s destined for the cellar, or the garage if I can get a network cable out there. Be interesting to see how much juice it takes.

Picked up a set of skyzone v2 while they are on sale.Very impressed with the image quality at the moment.I intend doing the faceplate mod for 2 reasons, the image is perfect if the goggles were a couple of mm further away from my eyes and also these will 100% need the fan as they are fogging up after a minute or so.Ive yet to try them outside, that will have to wait until the morning.I will have to get the clips printed for the mod off someone who has a printer.I have read about bad qc on this product so will have to see how they go but for now, very happy with them

What motors mate?

Motors and FC wise I';m not sure. I';m having issues with both my kwads at the mo. On the 5" since fitting R4';s and on the 6" since fitting the Omnibus. So until I';ve sorted them I';m holding off making a decision.

Yeah the V2 is mint, but I swapped it out for the the Omnibus to get the OSD and now it flies like a sack of crap and it won';t tune out, even with those AV buffers. Gonna have to take the Neo out of the 5" too because Dom isn';t supporting it, hardware issues and no FW. Been a bad couple of weeks, bit fed up :( Not had so many issue since I tried KISS.

On the plus side the Robox is feckin awesome so I';ve been printing like mad.
