  • ched999uk: RaceDayQuads have some cheap but good batts out now. Josh B tested and stats say very good especially at price. HobbyRC have 1300mAh 4S just under £20. Not had luck with Turnigy lipos either!!

  • Reman: Just realised that I hadn't gone through my stored Li-Po's for about a month. I try to visually check them every Saturday, And prod the plugs with a multimeter about once a month. Todays seen 12 more bulging packs go out to the incinerator..... All but one was a bloody Turnigy! Part of me wan't to burn the rest now and just get a load more Tattu packs, But I've spent good money on these packs and wan't to at least get a little more use out of them. :(

  • Bad Raven: Pre MR's I used to buy a lot from J.Perkins. Their website showed all items and stock or due date, go to dealer and buy with confidence. Then they went all "lifestyle" and all the site had were pictures or people. I wasn't after people. I never bought again. Yes, you'd think they'd learn...........
    July 15, 2018, 17:51:40
  • ched999uk: Reman sounds like amazon search. I find it ok unitil you want to search by price then amazon falls apart.... You would think both companies would get it right...
    July 15, 2018, 16:54:55
  • Reman: It's strange. The original setup they had about 5 or 6 years back wasn't too bad (Except for them occasionally getting accounts hacked), But they changed it to the last one that was clunky and slow, Now they've replaced that with a flashier one that's also clunky and slow ?!?!?! Most companies learn from what they do wrong. I don't buy from HK half as much as I used to, Mainly because it takes forever to trawl through 100 pages of totally unrelated stuff while looking for something you were thinking about getting when you saw it there the previous week !!!

  • hoverfly: I don't think there is a search button on H/King. They updated the site and forgot to  relabel the search button with  Random bo##ocks..

    July 15, 2018, 08:40:52
  • Reman: I see HobbyKing's revamped their site again...... Shame they haven't made the search function work any better, Or worked out why the whole site goes slower than a pensioner in a Nissan Micra. :)

  • Reman: How thick is Google? You buy something online, Then for the next week you get targeted adds for the item you've just got?!?! That's the one item you're NOT going to be buying again at that point so it's wasted effort of there part. :)

Nothing directly multi-rotor but one of these for the heated bed on my new 3D printer --> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122329697706?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And a pack of 20 4-way Dupont shells for a bijoux project.

this.......

most people are buying these for gimmick reasons mostly but this little puppy will be getting stripped out of its gaudy green waistcoat and transplanted into a custom 3d printed monocular setup with a fresnal lens.

must say the image quality is pretty dam good, hard to show it on a photo but should be more than sufficient to fly fpv with the right fresnal

I had seen those and thought cool but not really practical but as a monocular nice very nice.

Hi Cheredanine, what do you think the Spedix ES25a ESC';s? Just got them for my new build but waiting for the betaflight fc to be deilvered.
Hi mate,
So spedix escs are rebranded and sold as armattan for a start, so when people are buying armattan escs they are buying spedix with a different label

I discussed this briefly with Ryan from miniquad test bench. There is pretty much zero difference between any of the blheli_s escs on the market in terms of flight feel. I am running now 7 different types of blheli_s esc and I couldn';t say it makes any difference in the stick

Some have bigger caps on the signal line for smoothing, but since I have ripped them all off so I can run dshot, that makes no difference.

The quiescence (quiet time) between signals could arguably effect performance, many have the same as spedix, but none have shorter.

So really it comes down to price, form factor and amp rating
Since spedix cornered price and form factor is fine, I can';t see any reason to fly anything else (although be aware blheli_s is currently being ported to 32bit which will allow 32khz pid loops on bf (if you are running an f4 flight controller with the latest releases - because it will handle dshot1200)

So in summary, there isn';t a better blheki_s esc on the market than he spedix ones, but all the others are more expensive, that answer your q?

Well, if parcel forces tracker is right I';ve just had a pair of 5000mah 3s packs delivered.
Now I just need the motors, propellers and GPS dongle before I can start rebuilding my hex. :)
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.

Actually yesterday, but out then so another red card and collected today........................  ;)

Eachine Aurora 90 - http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Aurora-90-90mm-Mini-FPV-Racing-Drone-BNF-wF3-OSD-10A-BLheli_S-Dshot600-5_8G-25MW-48CH-VTX-p-1114799.html

I bought the FrSky version (D8).

Charged battery on the provided charger to make sure it worked, then flown.

Battery is 2S 450mAh and claimed 80C!!

Once flown I then flew again on a 2S 800mAh 20C Zippy and the extra weight (45g against 32g) and theoretically lower C rating  made little or no difference at all to normal flight, running without overheating to the motors so the brushless motors seem to deliver well.

Looks well made, ';course, I had to in the interest of providing a decent report fly it into a plant stalk I missed and cartwheel it end over end at least 5 metres, partly down a crazy paved path.... no damage!  Mine was ARTF, bind, charge, set Tx and go.  What are you transferring over?

And in  today';s post, which I was actually for once there to receive, an Eachine DVR03 Camera System. 72 channel FPV 0/25/50/200mW, above 25mW only for when I take it abroad of course!!  Built in DVR.

Hooked it up to a battery and inserted a 32Gb micro SD , and did three short recordings to prove it works, just waving the camera around by hand. Then a 30 second test on 200 (sorry OFCOM but only a test, had to prove it was functional). It runs and even in that time gets quite warm, all of it, PCB as well as aerial. 25mW output looks good and less heating load!

Now to set time, etc, etc.

Downside is its bigger than most (well it would have to be to get a MicroSD slot on it!) and so is not a straight swap into the tiny quad camera holders. Initially I am going to use it on a 1104 motored Diatone ET150 or 160, probably the 150 as as of now it has a metal cased early Eachine unit on it, and they probably weigh the same.  It will be fitted the same way, loom bands

Note, the Banggood website page for this camera has a frequency table that is typo';d with no apparent copy of the old ImmersionRC "f" channel frequencies, two lines the same. The printed info with it and their linked manual is OK (albeit tiny) so my first task was to enlarge and print the instructions from the link manual so it could be read more easily. Now in A4 size its actually useful!!  ::)

Damn near dark here now its so heavy overcast so will have to wait for an outside daylight test.
