  • shawdreamer: back in the days of arton sennsa and nigel mansell a race was always closer, even though the cars back then wernt as limited and standardized across the teams as todays the drivers unique skills had a massive factor in how a race would pan out.... either way it was always a guaranteed sight to see..... same situ in footy, back in the days of vinny jones and the like, they took a nasty tackle and dislocated there knee, quick spit and wipe off and up they got to take the free kick, nowadays a fan calls them a poofters and they dive on the floor and throw a tantrum like a five yr old whos been told they cant have any sweeties.
  • ched999uk: You are right about the entertainment factor. I think F1 is entertaining provided there are some closely matched competition or weather. I like teh fact that on some tracks a single slight error can cost the driver the race in F1. I used to love the, I think it was Rally Cross in the 80's. Saw some live with Metro XR4 at Brans, just amazing control. That was entertaining as rally+tarmac and cars racing each other side by side.
  • Reman: I never really liked F1. It was too all or nothing for my liking. The driver had to get every racing line, breaking point and gear change right to have a chance at winning. In rallying, someone could barrel roll their car into a ravine, but if they could get back on the track and had a big enough lead they could still wind up finishing in a podium position. Now THAT'S  entertainment. :)

  • JeremyE: The surface is constantly changing and you have way less time to react.
    June 27, 2017, 10:55:22
  • JeremyE: F1 requires way more skill!
    June 27, 2017, 10:54:31
  • ched999uk: Rally is great to watch and they display amazing control and skill. The problem for me is only seeing very limited clips of cars and it's a tie trial only. OK so the surface changes and they don't get to try the track before it matters. I like to see F1 drivers overtaking, OK so before anyone says what overtake in F1, it is getting better :)
    June 27, 2017, 10:35:24
  • shawdreamer: dont mean to take anything away from F1 drivers but when they race they rely on the road surface being dependably and consistently the same everytime..... a rally driver has to has to adjust his technique on every single turn and bend and take account that everytime another vehicle go's through that turn and bend ahead of his it changes the nature of the surface, F1 drivers are skilled, Rally drivers are skilled and brave..... and more than a little nuts
    June 27, 2017, 06:27:19

Hadn't seen that, about time too, I hate putting a Taranis in a small rucksack whereas the small FlySky i6 types are fine.
Just hope it is competitive on price because if FlySky get some more telemetry sensors going like vario, gps etc they will have cornered the value market.
Just to let you know there is a thread on RCGroups forum where a couple of people are working on i6 telemetry. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2486545-FlySky-FS-i6-8-channels-firmware-patch%21/page88
It's still in development but there are screen shots showing gps data on the i6 tx screen!!!!

A pair of FRSKY XM Rx's can't believe just how small they are  16.5x10.25 mm

Makes the XSR look totally huge in comparison

none of the xm have telemetry, the xm+ is probably the prefered Rx, the range on the xm is shorter

Agreed but for what this is for (an Armattan Bumper) it should be fine.

No apologies needed mate you weren't to know what they were going to be used for anything any bigger and I would be going for the XSR or X4r-sb rx's anyway?

Behold! 63/37 solder...

EDIT: This is the worst solder I have ever used. Barely melts at 300c. Simply refuses to solder on a PDB at 450c. Avoid!

A set of Hubsan H501S props (because I tried to FPV it in the woods and lost videosignal almost immediately after the 1st corner of our 250 race track).

think the Hubsan could do with a skew planar wheel antenna upgrade

It's been like a late Xmas for me this week. It's been a cluster of orders from BangGood that have all been turning up together. So far I've received.......

2x MOY RXA2 receivers for some brushed builds I've been slowly collecting bit's for,

4x Flysky X6B RX's because they were cheap enough and I really want to revisit some of my earlier "Rats nest wiring" builds now I'm getting better at clean installs,

A shed load of various reasonably chunky gauge power wire,

Another 4 Aomway cloverleaf antennas because I found the last few VTX's I'd bought were SMA and I didn't have any spare aerials to go on them,

A (Large) handful of prop nuts,

Some FPV cam mounts,

A couple more of the 20A Racerstar RS20Ax4 ESC's and 6 Racerstar BR2205 motors because I've found I quite like my "Built from spares" hex now and don't want to rob bit's off of it if I ended up needing them elsewhere,

More XT60U plugs and sockets than I think I'll ever need,

And a pretty little Liantian LT130 frame because I'd found that my Realacc MM130's motors were REALLY struggling with the frames weight. Despite being off work with flu today I managed to transfer all the electronics across as a pre wired clump from the 100g MM to the 32g LT frame in about 45 minutes, and it fly's SOOOOO much better in it's new home....... And all with only minimal snot on it ! LOL !

I also got a couple of packs of those crazy "Rainbow Rose Seeds" to give to my mum....... Mainly because the pictures of them look like some trippy as hell photoshop job. I just want to see if they can really look like this? :o

A really bad day of flying is still ten times better than a good day at work.

I don't like how I can't have stick arming and airmode at the same time. I'm not doing crazy inverted spins or even use the full stick throw the majority of the time so I'm not worried about disarming midair.

I won't go in to detail but I tried to get KISS gear working on 3 quads and after 6 months and dozens of hours/£££ wasted I gave up. It kinda ruined things for me and I didn't fly for 5 months. I crushed my KISS FC's in a vice, which was the most satisfaction I had from KISS gear
