LiPo Charging issues - 'BATTERY VOL ERR CELL CONNECT'

Hello All,

When I went to charge my 3300 mAh 4S LiPo today the message ';BATTERY VOL ERR CELL CONNECT'; kept displaying after about 2 seconds of charging. Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it?

The battery has been acting strangely lately even though it';s basically brand new. I went out for a flight yesterday that lasted about 20 seconds due to another issue and came to use the battery again today and it couldn';t provide enough power to lift off the ground.

Thanks  :banghead:

Sounds like balance lead problem or a bad connection between cells, are you balance charging and getting this message?
Try doing an unbalanced charge to see if you still get it!
I got "low vout" with my charger when one of my packs had a balance lead loose.

Could be that the voltage has dropped so low that it wont charge on lipo settings.

You could try giving a boost at 1a on nicad settings just to get it over 9v+,Make sure you do this outside ,and don`t leave it unattended :crossfingers:

Just reread your post,it says cell connect error.
Could be something as simple as a dodgy connection cable, usually your charger will say low voltage if it has dropped below a certain voltage.
Put a lipo tester on your balance plug and check the individual cell voltages.

I have tried charging it in standard charge and balance charge mode. I had the issue of it being too low voltage to charge yesterday but I sorted that by charging it in nimh mode so it';s not that.

Can I fix the battery or should I complain and get a new one?

3 cells are just over 3 volts but one of them is at 1.5. Could that be the problem?

Thanks but that';s not the issue. Although I did have that issue yesterday. The battery seems to be charging now but even though it';s a 14.8v 4 cell the voltage goes up to 16.8. Is this an issue?

Jumpy07

When lipo is fully charge it should be 4.2v per cell.. so 4s = 16.8
